MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Texas A&M student assistant coach Michael Richardson was sent home early from the Aggies' appearance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl after hitting West Virginia players in the first half of Texas A&M's 45-37 win on Monday at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Cameras showed Richardson striking West Virginia players who ventured out of bounds during the first half on two separate occasions. He used his elbow to strike Mountaineer cornerback Daryl Worley in the back of the head and shoved running back Andrew Buie in another incident.

You think what he did is ok??, How many times does he get to hit college players on the sideline?? He is a idiot, and should be banned from the sport.

Did you watch the video? Very poor sportsmanship. This coming from a coach was disgusting!

If you watch the video (maybe you did and perceived it differently) he sucker punched both players in the back of their heads well after the whistle had blown and they had turned back to the field. They hadn’t visibly taunted anyone, or done anything other than what you see on any play that goes out of bounds and into the bench. Frankly, I’ve never seen anyone on a sideline do anything like this. Even Woody Hayes could be said to have been provoked by the Clemson player taunting the OSU bench (he was fired the very next day for that last loss of temper). And at least he put his 70 year old forearm into the guy’s chin from the front. This was just a pair of plain old cowardly and unprovoked sucker punches.

Very poor sportsmanship.

Also, unnecessary Black on Black violence?

Richardson was a freshman linebacker for A & M in 2012 and broke his neck during a game.

Since then (according to the vid) he has been an unpaid “student assistant coach” on the sideline.

Maybe his marbles have been shaken loose, maybe it’s roid rage, maybe both.

Maybe he’s just a punk.

Do black football players matter? If its black on black, does it matter? (we all know the answer to that already)

There were probably some players who would have rather faced lions than Lawrence Taylor when he was still playing...

Should not be around young men and needs to be removed from the sideline permanently. No excuse for striking a player, even if a high school girl can hit harder than him.

LT was a beast. I think players feel the same way about Dez Bryant - maybe not the fear of getting hurt as much as they are in for a loooong, physical, tough game. Those are two guys I would not want to see lineup across the line.
