So, is this somehow a situation where she (and or others with her) were hammering on the doors to a out of service elevator and got them open and she fell in, or is it they were already damaged and she got pushed into them,...?

I know a lot of people drink pretty well at ball games. Fenway hardly is a dry baseball park.

It is also possible that she had nothing to do with the doors being broken.

Lawyers on both sides will be busy for a while.

There’s a lesson here somewhere, like “don’t lean against elevator doors, they could open suddenly” and whether or not the elevator’s there, you’re gonna fall!

“...A force in excess of 225 foot pounds...”

A pound is a unit of force, a foot pound is a unit of work or energy.

Doesn’t this ignorant sh!t make other people’s heads hurt?

Nah. I've come to expect it from reporters and reporterettes.

I'm actually pretty happy to find one that is educated up to the Earth, Air, Fire, and Water level.

I’m sure she’s not the only fan to get the shaft at Fenway.

I thought Scotland fell soon after Mel Gibson mooned England.

Sounds like she fell harder than the 2014 Sox - if that’s possible.

A pound is a unit of force, a foot-pound is a unit of work or energy.

Well a foot-pound is also a measure of moment, a force-couple. The official gave the reporter the term referring to the rotational force-couple use by abusers to break the resistance to the elevator entry.

I can see where such technical jargon would set off the reporter bashers. They could have told the reporter the idiots pushed so hard that the doors broke and swung open.

Must admit I was ignorant of that distinction though I think that if my head was impacted by the force of a 45 ACP, 185 grain with Muzzle Energy of 411 foot pounds — my head would hurt.
