Decorating a Christmas tree with cats around!

Cats VS Christmas Trees ... the battle continues!

Even though I knew we couldn't leave the Christmas tree up this year because it would be dangerous and Marmalade would more than likely eat something he shouldn't… Marmalade is currently going through chemotherapy and fighting cancer so I decided to put it up anyway so he could have some fun!

As you can see from the look of joy and mischief on his face it was well worth the effort :)

I put my tree up a few years ago when my kitties were younger. I then went to work, when I came home all the lights had fallen off, the ornaments were everywhere and the tree was crooked.

My Bengal Chester was asleep in the tree!

So, I took it down and decorated my 8 foot cactus!

That's great. A few years ago, with one of our felines who has gone to Cat Heaven, I set my "N" Gauge trains around the tree. She took great delight in waiting for the engine to come around and swatting it off the track. Surprisingly, she didn't attack the tree that much, although any ornaments within 2 feet of the floor were fair game.

"Dia shábháil ar fad anseo!"
This is the Arabic character "nun" – the first letter of the word "Nazarene." I post it as my avatar in solidarity with people of all faiths suffering persecution at the hands of Islam. Many of them are members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, dating from the days of the Apostles. They endure cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors they, and we, are all "Nazarenes."

Cute video.

It gives me an idea. I think after Christmas I’ll buy a cheap fake tree. I won’t decorate it. I’ll just set it up in the kitty’s room.

I think this psyCATtic rescue kitty I have will love it!

Yes we saw that one earlier, and it was a cute video other than the shake yer booty.

Reminded us of the first year we had our little Ms. Boo about 9 years ago, and she climbed up the trunk of the Christmas tree in the Living Room. Mrs. RQSR came into the room, and there was this little kitten face peeking out between the ornaments. Boo is a good little kitty, and never knocked off any ornaments. She was about 3/4’s up a nine foot tree. Good Boo, Good Boo. Amazingly she never went up a Christmas tree after that.

Lol, that brings back nice memories. The most wonderful cat I ever had was a gorgeous long haired orange and white female. What was so wonderful about her was that she was five times as loving as she was beautiful. When I would have to take her to the vet, they would have to carry her over to a sink and turn on the water just to get her to stop purring long enough that they could listen to her heart and lungs! Anyway, long story short, I was moving into a new apartment when the landlord came down and saw her and said “Oh, you got one a the ornamental kind.” I thought it was kinda funny because it made her sound aloof, which she definitely wasn’t. Thanks for the memory jog. :)
