what’s the big deal about a bike going through the drive through? I was wondering the same thing. If the guy has the money, why can't they just serve him and send him on his way? Is it really a safety issue?
I also agree that bicycling while intoxicated should not be criminal in this way, but the police view bicycles as vehicles, they must obey traffic laws, therefore you can be arrested for DUI while riding drunk.

I rode my horse through the drive-through once. The workers there thought it was pretty funny. No place to tie him up outside, though.

It was 3 am, how many cars was he blocking?
Probably was a 24 hour place with drive-thru only in the wee hours and he wanted some rocket fuel for the trip home.

Does not matter. All it takes is one sleepy driver coming around the corner and not looking for the dumbbell on the bicycle parked in the drive-thru lane in the middle of the night.
There is a reason why they have the little sign saying they will not serve people who are not in cars at the drive-thru window.
They told him to move along, (that was because of the bicycle) he chose not to do so (that might have been because he was drunk or stupid) they called the police (that was because he was now trespassing and a safety hazard).
