If you see Interstellar this weekend, please your non-spoiler reviews for Freepers on this thread and I will bump it.

Just saw it.
Ambitious. Explores interesting concepts. Relies heavily on theoretical physics, while also greatly straining physics and credulity in the interest of the plot (not that most movies don’t). A bit longer than necessary.
Overall, entertaining, but not a great film by any stretch.
That’s my $0.02.
Oh yeah, decent performances by McConaughey and Hathaway, relatively weak performances from just about everyone else.
One of the best and most interesting films I’ve ever seen. The sound was a little over the top, to the point of making some of the dialogue difficult to follow, but other than that, I saw no flaws. This is a definite “must see again” movie, because there is a plot twist that makes you want to go back and re-watch parts of it in light of what you learn at the end.
I saw it in IMAX - if you do, sit far in the back. Sitting too close strained my eyes and I had to move.
(I haven’t seen it)
In a world where humans survive on corn and corn-related products because of something called “global warming” (the fiction in science fiction) they devise a way to send humans through a wormhole to find a better place to grow .....
POTATOES
When the ship returns with the first load of spuds, there is worldwide celebration.
Great photography and acting, special effects.
One thing I don’t like politically is the whole concept of enviro decline —that our gradual destruction is the product of everyday decisions of average people.
That’s false.
Good movie, though? Yes.
Don’t know if they’ll have an IMAX version, but this is one that was MADE for that, I believe.
This movie is “Space 2001” meets “Armageddon” but sans the rah-rah element so prominent in the latter.
I hate most movies these days and I did not hate this one.
They could have been a movie showing them building greenhouses.
The trailers turned me off because the premise seemed to be that all of a sudden we have to find a new home. We already know today that we have to do that. Sure, it’s a long way off, but the Sun’s going to burn up the Earth, so we have to find another place. Or is there some immediate threat? And at the stage of development we have today, we haven’t got the means to “find another home.”
Maybe I’m missing something, but the science seems wrong.
Saw it last night on a multiplex (not true) IMAX screen with my 15 year old son.
Enjoyed the hell out of it. Both of us.
And nothing in the script that set off my “attempted liberal brainwashing” alert system. lol
21 Things in Interstellar That Dont Make Sense"
1. The film implies that corn is the USAs final crop. But if there's no wheat, where, exactly, does the beer that Matt McConaughey’s and John Lithgows characters drink come from?
Gadzooks! That is enough for me. No real possibility for beer... Not a chance in hell of me seeing this film even if Anne and Jessica get nakked together—
Hummm-- Together-- Well... on second thought--
Debbie Schlussel gave it 4 Reagans.
You can make beer from/with corn.
Yeah, yeah, yeah-- You can also make a silk purse from a pig's ear... but it ain't never going to taste like a pork chop!
But Anne and Jessica getting nakked... Now, that is something to ponder--
I went last night. I think I missed about the first 5 minutes. It starts slow. In fact I was getting bored and almost fell asleep. But once they lifted off into space it got very interesting. It did have a space odyssey 2001 kind of flavor to it. The effects were great. The plot line was intriguing and kept you guessing as to how it would end. It is not very action packed so if you are looking for a lot of action you will be disappointed. If I had to describe the movie in one word I would say cerebral. Oh and it is the kind of movie you might want to see again. (The Sixth Sense anyone?)
