Would you eat “nuclear soup”? Japanese artists serve broth made with Fukushima-grown vegetables

Philip Kendall 17 hours ago

Would you eat a bowl of soup made mainly with vegetables grown in Fukushima Prefecture? What if the cook swore to you that everything that went into the soup had been tested and was safe for human consumption? Would you be able to push all thoughts of Fukushima Daiichi, contaminated groundwater and Blinky the three-eyed fish out of your mind long enough to risk a spoonful?

A pair of artists from Japan recently gave visitors to the Frieze Art Fair in London just such a decision to make, presenting them with a homemade broth made with Fukushima-grown produce and asking them to give it a try, if they dared.

If its been tested, then fine.

Just because its from Fukushima doesn’t mean it was near the plant. Prefectures are pretty big.

Some smart techie should/will develop a geiger ring .. or watch .. so if you sit down to a bowl of chowder, you'll know if it's hot or not.

Sure wish I was a techie ... got a million ideas I give away for free in normal conversation rather than holing up in my garage and BUILDING the damned stuff

There are various versions of maps of Japan showing where radiation fallou8t has been detected. I’ll use sone of Japan’s official (gov) maps.

Note that these maps tend to report Cesium but there are several other contaminants there as well (e.g., Strontium) so these maps report a fraction (tested) of the contaminants present.

I like your tagline very much. America will never be again what she originally was unless and until WE, or a majority of WE turn back to God and His Word.

Thanks. I was really amazed when I did just what I am suggesting in my tagline, which I did just recently. It gave me an opportunity to put on the mind of the best of our Founding Fathers.

I remember back in the 50s - 60s on the dairy farm, some whacky forerunners of the AGW loonies of today, were giving themselves hernias over supposed Strontium 90 in the milk from cows grazing on grass that contained nuclear fallout.

That slowly fizzled out and went away, as I hope this current AGW lunacy soon does....but probably won’t because prostitute politicians and media types have become co-conspirators in the fraud.
