Will answer your other question in a bit, however you may like these for your preps: True Lime and True Lemon

I don’t believe that is true. There is a mutation to DNA some Europeans have that makes them either immune or partially immune to smallpox and HIV, and I believe Ebola, too. My mom has it, my dad doesn’t (they did DNA testing- the health tests the FAA shut down).

I read the reviews. It would be a great addition to my shelf stable condiments and flavorings, of which, as an aside, I just added dehydrated coconut milk.

I’ll be ordering this item in True Lemon. If I only had fresh oysters to go along...

For my Halloween costume, I am thinking white plastic bags for my feet, a la white go-go boots, and black garbage bag for my head wrap, floral ruffled dishwashing gloves, and maybe I’ll go to the thrift store for an old Member’s only jacket. ( I live in AZ and a plastic raincoat will be too hot, and besides, there will be a live band and I want to dance!) I don’t to waste my better masks from Home Depot, so I’ll stick to the inexpensive cotton masks that I buy in bulk and took on vacation to the Grand Canyon last week, in case, there was an outbreak in Flagstaff (lol).

And of course, the recipes that were contributed here on this post with Free Republic’s web address. I keep telling my neighbors about our site, which they are not knowledgeable about, so maybe this will get them onboard here.

I would like to thank Freeper Lisa from her site Survival Mom for the link to the LA Times article, which was sent to me via mass email.

Here is her very useful site:

Here are some of the topics she also covers:

I just added dehydrated coconut milk.

That sounds good. Do you have a link? Thanks.

Ok, found something else to add to the amazon wishlist.

Although I’ve got a couple of lemon trees (in containers) and a lime tree ditto ditto, you can never have enough lemon for tea IMHO.

I agree about doing what one must , in time of crisis.

The key to the lady’s success was that there wasn’t a bureaucracy that would tell her “no, you can’t do that”.

Amazon has organic coconut milk powder, by the pound.

Also, Costco has 1gal tubs of organic coconut oil (2/order). I use the larger size to fill up my smaller jars around house (kitchen, bathroom vanity, etc.)

http://www.amazon.com/Coconut-Cream-Powder-Chao-Thai/dp/B0095VQH5M

I bought it the other day and tried it last night for the first time with a Thai curry made with pork, bitter melon, Chinese eggplant, baby bak choy, chicken broth, Thai curry paste and fish sauce. The broth, 1 can, 14 oz and the moisture from the vegetables extruded enough liquid that I did not add any more to the 1/3 C of powered I added in the last 3 minutes.

I think I like it because is in powdered form and easy to store because it is compact, and you just add powder. But it did not have that unctuous quality, of the oily and rich cream that rises to the top of coconut cream in a can.

I have coconut oil for cooking and toiletry use, I might try and add that to get the texture I like. I stored it with my preps.

Write back after you have experimented, PA.
