A Nebraska school district has instructed its teachers to stop referring to students by “gendered expressions” such as “boys and girls,” and use “gender inclusive” ones such as “purple penguins” instead.
“Don’t use phrases such as ‘boys and girls,’ ‘you guys,’ ‘ladies and gentlemen,’ and similarly gendered expressions to get kids’ attention,” instructs a training document given to middle-school teachers at Lincoln Public Schools.
“Create classroom names and then ask all of the ‘purple penguins’ to meet on the rug,” it advises.

Steve Joel needs to find another line of work - one that involves a padded cell. This is child abuse and the purveyors need to be sued and hounded until this insanity is removed from the schools.

I will avoid this insensitivity be calling all public school educators “jackasses.”
But when 5 year old johnny dresses up in a tutu and demands to be called a girl...they had better correct him/her/it.
