Newt Gingrich : The Republican Opportunity

=====================================================

The Republican Opportunity

The general trend clearly favors the GOP in the 2014 election cycle. In state after state, President Obama's failures are weighing down Democratic candidates.

Experienced election analysts like Charlie Cook and Stu Rothenberg openly assert there is a Republican advantage which could give the GOP control of the Senate and add significantly to the majority in the House.

Newt Gingrich Podcast

There is a real opportunity in the next four weeks to increase the Republican advantage by offering a set of solutions that give voters a sense that Republicans have more to offer than negative ads and attacks on President Obama.

To maximize their vote, Republicans need to be able to complete the sentence "If Republicans have a majority in both the House and Senate they will......" Proposing more hearings into Obama administration failures is not a satisfactory completion of that sentence.

What is needed now is a firm, clear set of positive principles and solutions.

Two Republican leaders have stepped up to the challenge.

As I wrote on September 19, Speaker John Boehner has outlined an agenda which starts with energy and then adds five big areas of ambitious reforms. His commitment to tax reform, regulatory reform, and litigation reform are especially noteworthy. Since then, Boehner has also indicated a commitment to even deeper and more powerful reform of the Veterans Administration arguing that "Our veterans deserve access to a 21st century health system."

I encourage you to watch this short two-minute video on the agenda.

A Speaker of the House outlining an agenda that bold sends a powerful signal about what Americans can expect from the next Congress.

Tomorrow, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will join Speaker Boehner in outlining a positive set of principles for solving our problems.

On Thursday Chairman Priebus will speak at George Washington University. I will outline his major principles on Friday. I think you will be surprised at how much you agree with Chairman Priebus’s speech.

These two leaders are putting forward a serious and positive reform agenda for the Republican Party. Now the challenge is for all Republican candidates, including incumbents, to join them by spending October talking about what they will do if Americans give them their votes--not just what President Obama is doing wrong.

Your Friend,

Newt

Gingrich and Rick Perry are still worse than Rand on immigration.

Ooh, Boehner has a 5 point plan!

The fact that I first heard about it from Newt tells me all I need to know. Repubes can come up with all the ideas they like, NOBODY IS HEARING ABOUT THEM.

Newt Gingrich ...

Tomorrow, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will join Speaker Boehner in outlining a positive set of principles for solving our problems.

There is perhaps no more loyal supporter of Newt Gingrich's ideas at Free Republic than myself.

Newt Gingrich occassionally displays the courage and brilliance of Sir Winston Churchill.

However, in Newt's statement (above) it's sad to hear someone so otherwise "politically intelligent" as believing ...

a Single Word uttered by either John Boehner, Reince Priebus, Juan McCain or that political aids-infected whore Mitch McConnell.

Speaker Gingrich, I hope that you reflect closely on that "scientific truth".

Clearly, the only reason that the "Tea Party Haters" John Boehner and Reince Priebus, are making such "conservative " speeches now is ...

MONEY
MONEY
MONEY
MONEY.

It's a craven $$$$$ appeal to those despicable "sell-their-own-daughters-to-islamic-brothel" ...

Illegal Amnesty NOW !

Chamber of Commerce traitors.

Speaker Gingrich, with all due respect, Sir, I'm praying that John Bohner, Mitch McConnell and Thad Cochran are replaced by DEMOCRATS in 2014.

Respectfully,

Patton@Bastogne

Worse than Obama is now? Gingrich should have been a contender in 2012.. certainly better than Mitt was.

But so many were distracted by his marriage situation they (here on FR) they were not giving him any consideration.

Think of the great choices we could have had and kept Obama out... but many are looking for the prom king candidate or Mr. Popular.

Folks nearly any one of the choices we had would have been better than Obama and could have won. Mitt was the only choice we had at the time, work to prevent that type of situation happening again.

But if we are, keep in mind the long haul and vote to keep an Obama type out. Vote to protect SCOTUS and get the left out of power.

Our republic can not survive another Obama.

The first HYOOOOOOGE hurdle these folks need to cross:
Anything coming from the RNC, Priebus, Boehner, McConnel or the rest of the GOPe will have to somehow, some way, struggle through the automatic anti-GOPe filter with a large segment of their voting constituency.

So...

Step one: Give us a reason to pay you any attention at all. I would say this is going to be tough to do. Best of luck to you.

Step two: The first things out of your mouth had better be “what’s best for our country and why” and a big part of that better involve paring the Fed Gov *waaaaaaay* back, broad spectrum, across the board *AND* minimize any talk of “what’s best for your party”. Don’t stay stuck on the “Us vs Them” political bull-mess. Focus on restoring liberty, minimizing govt, maximizing the people.

If you can’t do that, then sit your @$$ down and get out of the way.

Just my stinky opinion.
