\Will it bend? Samsung Galaxy S4
Cnet Analysis ^ | September 23, 2014 | Adam McKeithan

Reviewed by cnetanalysis on Sep 23, 2014. After seeing the iPhone 6+ bend will the S4 do the same? Yes. Yes it will. After looking very closely it bent around the volume buttons just like the 6+.

"Bendgate" just lost some of it's promotional value for Samsung. The Galaxy S4 not only bends but the screen breaks as well.

Gaddamn iPhone 6. I just had to do my first support call on one tonight. I felt like telling the user to drop it in the pool. Now I'm Samsung certified (lotta hardware training we got THERE *ahem*ahem*), and I have no clue what the hell to do with them. Besides buying an analog Ma Bell phone and be happy with it. I'd like to take The Internet Of Things and send it all back to Hell.

God, I love my job.

Looks like all the old Microsoft guys have just aligned with Samsung and kicked MS to the curb. Meet the new FUD, same as the old FUD. Apple haters don’t die, they just change horses in midstream, lol.

The chassis of iPhone 6+ should not bend and remain bent, I will say that. But at least the screen doesn’t shatter when bent, unlike the Samsung.

I'd like to bend them all. In a shop vise.

My take is that it’s all a marketing ploy by competitors, primarily Samsung, to depress sales of the 6+. They all have a point beyond which they are damaged. In some regards, the 6+ is more durable than others. It will bend and remain bent if you sit down with it in your back pocket. But, then again, others bend and shatter the screen. So, whatever mileage was gained from this viral “Bendgate” campaign was short lived.

Will a Macbook Pro bend?

Of course it will, if you apply enough force.

ANYTHING WILL bend, if you apply enough force.

They appear to be here to stay, frustrating or not, lol. It’s sort of exciting, the computing power you can hold in the palm of your hand these days, when you stop and think about it.

Whoa. What a waste. I had one get frisbee’d across the room by a large dog running through the power cord while charging once. Bashed one corner on the hinge side when it skidded into the baseboard so it didn’t close evenly, but still worked just fine.

Ah, you did it, so I don’t have to.

One good Carrington Event, and it's 1850 again.

Love that iPhone6. Nice paperweight. Bet it looked purdy when it turned on.

Unless it was being charged at the time, I don’t think a smartphone would be all that affected one way or the other, in and of itself. Recharging might be a challenge without one of those hand-crank chargers or a personal solar panel. The cell network itself would probably be fried.

Yeah, imagine all those selfies they can look at while they’re scrounging fatwood to start a cooking fire. LOL!

Hey, if you could keep the thing charged somehow you’d be a minor celebrity. Music. Videos. Games. I’ve been in a two week power outage before. It gets awfully quiet, especially after dark. So many things you take for granted that you only notice when they’re gone.

That last sentence encompasses so many more things than something as inert as a cell phone. So many things. I agree. And we do take them for granted until we realize what we lost.

Rushing out to post this reminds me of the “no antenna” problem stories around the iPhone.....until Apple admitted the antenna problem.

Cults are like this. Some Apple fans remind me of the rioters in Ferguson.....damn the facts!

Been carrying my s4 in my pocket since the day I got it. Still straight as an arrow.

I do not, however, put it in my back pocket. That makes no sense at all and anyone that does is asking for a bent/broken phone.
