I wonder why neither of these movies get a run on SyFy, TCM or AMD.

I tried one out at my kids programming school. “Rode” the VR roller coaster. Very impressive .

On a conscious level I knew I was sitting in my office but if I looked up I could see the fluttering fabric of my glider and if I looked down, the Grand Canyon. There's a Disney ride based on hang-gliding. It features various aromas as you swoop low over orange groves or pine forests. It won't be long before this single-player hardware can do the same.

I’d imagine there’s an adjustment period for a lot of people and some will never be able to overcome it. The body/gravity/sense of motion says one thing and the eyes and ears sense another. It’s gotta be ‘interesting’ until the brain adapts.
Sorta along the lines of some games causing epileptic type seizures i’d think.. Some people just can’t do it but are otherwise seizure free.

When VR becomes a direct connection to the brain and indistinguishable from reality, strange things will indeed happen.
For one, material pleasures may become irrelevant. Since then everyone will be able to have the private island, the stable of supermodels, a garage of sportscars, etc. I would hope it would stop humans from fighting/abusing each other to attain these fleeting things but who knows who we'll screw it up...

It was motion sickness, like when you sit in one of those “box with video screen” rides.
