They played that game way back in 1958...

It's like Deja Vu all over again.

In the past five years, jets under NORAD’s command have intercepted more than 50 Russian bombers approaching North American airspace.

Putin's been poking Zero in the eye for five years...

I guess he had Obama number for a long time...

The Russian bombers did not enter U.S. airspace but flew within 63 miles of the Alaskan coast and 46 miles of the Canadian coastline, Davis said.

One defense official said the Russian bomber activity appeared timed to the visit to the United States and Canada by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The Ukrainian leader was in Ottawa for meetings with Canadian leaders on Wednesday. He met with President Obama on Thursday.

The MiGs would have slaughtered the A-10s had they been ordered to do so.

Sorry, A-10s are a fine weapon, but around here some give them super powers.

They're mistaking the A-10 with the T/AT-37 Tweet.

Which is the Chuck Norris of airplanes ...

Just like the Soviets tweeked, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Ford, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush I. It was a game played by both sides. The Reds sent Bear Bombers into the North American ADIZ on a routine basis for 50 years. We would send up a couple of fighters, they would wave, we would wave back.
The red aircraft would head back to Soviet air space. Their bombers would fly from the North Cape to Cuba and back, their cpa would be within 30 miles of the U.S. East Coast.
Langley AFB would send up a couple of fighters, escort them south, then hand over the escort mission to a couple of fighters from Florda AFBs. We knew damn good an well the reds were not going to start WWIII with just a couple of bombers. Nor were we going to start WWIII by shooting them down.
