The family was scared to go near the drone...All I'd be thinking is "Hey, free drone."

Okay.....it's legal for the drone to spy on me and take pictures, even in my own back yard, but it's illegal for me to see what's been photographed?

Looks like a Phantom drone. Wish I could get one for free.

Yep, looks like a Phantom drone...maybe version one?
The current model is around $1,500...but has a pretty low battery life.
To: Kirkwood
I think the Phantom II has a path range of about 1.5 miles...it’s usually set to return to the point of origin....unless you run out of power.

How scary...an evil drone in the backyard!!! Eveyone should be concerned...
Chill out.
These things are like RC airplanes of the past. The tech is so good now you get some very capable and fun ones for a hundred dollars. They are sold everywhere
The world is not ending

The Phantom 2 Vision drone in action. If it loses connection with its controller, it will use GPS to find its way back to its launching site and land itself.

(You are more likely to find krugerrands in a Cracker Jack box then 22 ammo at Wal-Mart)

Too much resembles a chew toy. Unless I got out there first, I’m afraid my two pups would have known EXACTLY what to do with it.

They have a wide range of prices. I think the base model is $550 and they go up to $1500 or more. For whatever reason, the “lost drone go home” mode apparently failed.

Don’t know about you, but I’d be looking at the yellow piece of paper for a clue or two.
