Underlooked Upset

I can't believe how little mention there has been about LSU's stunning upset of the Sam Houston State Bearcats. The tigers slipped by by 56 points.

Let's hope that they haven't neglected to focus on the University of Louisiana at Monroe this Saturday.

Local sports radio was interviewing Brent Musberger, and noted that SFA must be turning into a real sports powerhouse when network TV sends over the Top Team for the broadcast.

Several big-name teams faced relatively unknown small-name teams and in most instances, it wasn't even a challenge.

Arkansas, which hasn't won an SEC game in a year and lost to Auburn last week 45-21, walloped Nicholls State 7 to 73.

I was just being sarcastic for fun.

I presume you mean that the Aggies play ULM a month before they play LSU...if so, I think the comparison may be irrelevant by then...injuries, suspensions, arrests, academic ineligibility and breaking school rules...just to name a few.

Having said that LSU’s line outweighed Sam Houston by an average of 60 lbs per man...what more needs to be said about that.

I saw the Aggies first game and was very impressed. I saw LSU’s first game and wasn't impressed at all although Wisconsin might beat up on Sam Houston too.

It’s LeSU and don’t forget that.

LSU was 1-13 in 3rd down conversions and late in the 3rd quarter he decided to go for it on 4th down and five and made it. Check the tape...the game was as good as over right then and there.

Les must have forgotten to eat is grass... Imagine the kicker to open the 2nd half forgot that he was supposed to kickoff...at least he didn’t do it in time. A first in my recollection. The good news for LSU fans is he still kicked it out of the end zone after the penalty.

I know....but it’s shaping up to be an exciting SEC season..

I went to up SC last week for the A&M game..amazing to watch the oxygen sucked out of 60,000 people..

I think this year Bama may have problems..especially at QB..I think they lose at least once..to either LSU or A&M..maybe both..the game in 2 weeks with Florida will tell a lot..about both teams..everyone here is up on the Gators..but a shellacking and the clock starts ticking on Coach Boom...if Gators manage to win this..then it’s wide open.

With BIG 10’s implosion..SEC will get two teams in the final 4..

Several big-name teams faced relatively unknown small-name teams and in most instances, it wasn't even a challenge.

The FCS has won 26 games against FBS since 2010. Nebraska and Washington dodged the bullet Saturday. Other FBS teams weren't so fortunate. FCS covered the spread in most of them this year. Minnesota quit scheduling NDSU because they were getting their ass kicked in a home game almost every year. It hurt recruiting.
