Oh boy, we've got a good one this week! Glenn Ford brings new meaning to the term "hard-boiled" in this tough, gritty noir about murder, corruption, and one man's descent into an obsession for justice at any price. Co-starring Lee Marvin, Jocelyn Brando, and Gloria Grahame in a scene-stealing performance. Directed by Fritz Lang.

As always, if you want on (or off) my pinglist, feel free to post or FReepmail me.
Enjoy the movie!
ping.
At 15 minutes at a time, I just got done watching “The Hitchhiker” that you had posted last week!
Fun movies. Some parts are better than the new movies (building of suspense, etc.). Although I think the endings of some of these old movies lack something. And the gunfight and fist-fight scenes can be pretty lame.
Will put this one on and check it out!
Good ‘un!
Great movie!
I’ve seen your FRiday Night Movie threads before. Have you kept a running list of the movies you’re featured?
As an alternative to u-toob (and the possibility of starting a movie chain only to find one “episode” missing) I look for movies at Stagevu.com. They had The Big Heat there: http://stagevu.com/video/wsyiowzxfrvf
I always download it and then watch it instead of streaming ;’)
Thank you! I so enjoy these escapes!
Hi, G! Thought you might be interested.
Oh wow! YESSSSSSS!!!!!
I got a movie, for Saturday night! YAY!
Thank you Silent gypsy.
Please add me to your ping, list.
I’ll bring the popcorn. :)
I’d be happy to add you both to my ping list. :-)
Glad you enjoyed The Hitchhiker. I would agree the ending was a bit of a letdown. It felt a little rushed and didn’t really cap the great suspense leading up to as well as it might have. I figure it was a consequence of a limited budget and time limits - the studios were pretty tight-fisted when it came to some of the B-noirs.
I hope I can post more A-listers like The Big Heat as time goes by.
I haven’t kept a list, but I will put one together. Good idea!
One of the earliest rogue cop films. Very shocking at the time.
