Bad schools = parents who don’t give a flip about their child’s education, make them do their homework, etc...
Human scum just creates more scum.
Why do you even work in a situation like that? Can’t you teach in a private school? How can you stand going to work every day?
When you are closer to retirement than farther, you don’t give up your job so easily. Also, private schools don’t pay as well or have equivalent benefits/insurance. Believe me, otherwise I’d leave. The physical and verbal assaults from students, the harassment by administration and dealing with some truly nutty parents takes away from what used to my be-all and end-all, my utter passion.
