Keys to staying young: Bucks woman, 91, plays piano on Saturday nights

ta Bieber doesn't need sheet music.

She just sits at a lovingly restored piano at McCoole's at the Historic Red Lion Inn in downtown Quakertown and lets her fingers fly.

"I have about 120 songs in my head," the Kintnersville resident says.

Bieber has fans that come to see nearly every one of her Saturday night performances.

She very rarely misses a week at McCoole's piano. Little will stop her, not illness, surgeries or unrelenting snow. Pretty amazing when you consider she's 91 years old.

I've often said that I fully intend to die young -- at a very advanced age. Charles Fillmore, the co-founder of Unity, said when he was 94, "I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm as I spring forth with mighty faith to do that which ought to be done by me." Politics aside, I admire the gusto of former President Bush, jumping out of an airplane on his 90th birthday.

A our recent Spiritual Living Retreat, we were reminded that our purpose in life is to live our lives in great joy, and we were reminded to live our calling full out.

Accordingly, the following story (which I saw in the paper up here while visiting my sister-in-law for Labor Day) caught my attention.

I just bookmarked it. Live close enough to visit one night. Looks like a great place. Of course, things have changed since the 30 years I’ve been in Bethlehem. They had a 5 mile walk to save the Syrians in Allentown.
