A brief tenure as Taoiseach and so remembered largely for his key role in turning the violence around rather than any progress economically. Still, a worthwhile tenure for that reason alone.

“Under the Constitution of Ireland, the Taoiseach must be appointed from among the members of Dáil Éireann. He is nominated by a simple majority of the chamber’s members, and formally appointed to office by the President. Since the President is required to appoint whomever the Dáil nominates without the right to decline appointment, it is often said that the Taoiseach is “elected” by the Dáil.” Wiki

"The Tao of Pooh is a book written by Benjamin Hoff. The book is intended as an introduction to the Eastern belief system of Taoism for Westerners. It allegorically employs the fictional characters of A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh stories to explain the basic principles of philosophical Taoism." Wiki

Taoiseach is pronounced something like “tea-shock.” Irish employs a lot of letters that aren’t necessary . . . to our English speaking ears.

Ireland: the only country which has a Taoiseach, and knows how to pronounce the word.
