LOL, no shiite! Isn't that the POINT!?!?
I suspect it is! LOL! A cat scratch is just a scratch, but a tiger scratch can kill ya!
Um... did you misread my post? I was NOT supporting the pit bull.
LOL
I was at the vet today getting my son’s dog his 2 us shots and wellness. My vet loved him and said he sees more dachshund and yappy dog bites that never get mentioned in the press.
Yes, I understood that. I’m not just another pretty face, ya know! ;o]
Most people don’t like pit bulls. They are as afraid of the reputation as they are the dog in general. And that’s OK. I don’t own any and don’t breed any and that’s the way goes.
My point is: ANY dog can injure, maim or kill, but logic will tell you that the larger the dog, the more extensive the damage.
That’s a good history! Thanks!
The Dachshund that bit me was in his owner’s arms. It was considered an “unprovoked” attack, but bite me he did. I still have the scar and that was over 40 years ago.
The collie bite took place when I was a toddler, and I also have the scar from that. Again, “unprovoked.” But I’ve never been afraid of dogs.
"... Anyone that puts an infant within reach of a pitbull is a F-n idiot. ..."Let me refine that to a more reasonable and prudent statement, "...Anyone that puts an infant within reach of any breed of dog, from Teacup Chihuahua to a Pakistani Mastiff, without extremely close, mentally & physically capable adult human supervision, is a F-n idiot..."

White Fang, half wolf.
Pit bulls kill. . and you can never recover from being dead.
I have seen some dogs who can smell fear, but can also detect what kind of fear. I was bicycling on one country road where one GSD ran out. I could read that it was more curiosity, but as the dog approached, Yes, there was fear, but more fear of a collision. The dog detected that, and backed away while I slowed to a stop. Then the dog approached, sniffed, let me pet it, and then we were on our separate ways. To me it was an indication of the intelligence of some dogs. It could tell that I was not afraid of it attacking, I was afraid of a mishap occurring.
