LOCKPORT, NY - Last week, 2 On Your Side reported on the spike of shootings in the City of Lockport this year. While we were in Lockport, police gave us a mug shot of a man suspected of some of the shootings. And, on the mug shot appeared a phrase that can be offensive to many people.
The mug shot was of 19-year-old Shamir Allen. He's a suspect in several shootings in the city. We looked further on the mug shot and found next to line labeled "complexion," that Allen is listed as a "negro." Next to negro it reads "DA"
According to Lockport Police, this means dark.
So, Shamir Allen, a 19-year-old suspect is listed as a "dark negro," in the Lockport Police database.
We showed the mug shot to three black leaders in the City of Buffalo -- Eva M. Doyle, a columnist and author, who's written thousands of articles on African and African-American culture; Erie County Legislator Betty Jean Grant; and Frank Mesiah, the president of the NAACP Buffalo Branch.
All three were outraged by what they saw.

Oh, for heaven’s sake - after 1-1/2 years in Africa, not many black Americans were a color match for the “so black they’re almost blue” pigmented folks I met.
How about the Sudanese boys that ended up in the USA - now that’s BLACK.

So the PD is going to be put through “sensitivity training”. The city council of Lockport owes it to their taxpaying citizens to inform them how much $$$ this glorified brainwashing is costing them. Teaching sensitivity, that’s gotta be a nice gig. As Old Blue Eyes sang “Nice Work if You Can Get It”.
As I recall during the race riots in High School, the answer was irrelevant. Whatever a targeted person said would be wrong.
Negro is Spanish for black, and we are on the verge of being a Spanish speaking country, so why not.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was unavailable for comment.
I hear The National Council of Negro Women isn't too happy either.
