CBS put on an anti-religion jeremiad early Thursday morning on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson: a feminist musician who likes “wearing and making something Satanic since music is so not right now.”
Piano-banging rock singer Kristeen Young made her late-night TV debut, accompanied by Foo Fighters stars Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. She sang the song “Pearl of a Girl” that criticizes Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, but most gratuitously proclaims about Jesus “I wish the virgin would’ve had an abortion.” [See video below. It’s a bit hard to make out in Kristeen’s ranty performance on CBS, but here are the anti-religious lyrics:
I never knew I was a girl until they stopped to tell me
I never knew I was disturbed until they dropped three volumes on me
But in the Bible/Torah/Quran there are really no good roles for me except concubine and wash woman
I used to be the sad one now I just wanna stab them it’s so severe its brutal….
They’ve needed to have the law so they can legally bind us

They’ve needed most of the dough they must be so scared of us
So their stories are of ghosts I only wish the virgin would’ve had an abortion.

In an interview with Paper magazine about the outfits she designs for herself, Young announced “I felt like wearing and making something Satanic since music is so not right now. Even Ozzy’s like the loveable, silly uncle next door.
She added:
The skirt’s pattern, which I painted on, represents the symbols of three major religions…but I’ve defaced them. The cross and the half moon are upside down and I sewed little metal pieces on the star points of the Star of David to look like blades making it like a martial arts throwing star weapon. The fabric and pattern of the skirt is the same as the lining of the jacket. I got the idea from what silent film star, Theda Bara, was wearing in one of her movies. I wear this outfit in much of the upcoming “Pearl of a Girl” video. The song is about the centuries of religious persecution (and again, triumph) of women.

I guess if you say things that are so offensive it will bring you attention. We live in a very classless society today and the mainstream media is leader of the sleaze pack.

You know Madonna, who joined some Jewish religion, took the name “Esther” after Queen Esther because she admired her. So I have to believe that Madonna is not as stupid to believe something like this. I now have a new respect for Madonna/Esther and not whats-her-name.
Wait till she writes her song about Allah or Mohammed, I’m sure a network will promote it.

The audience probably didn’t understand what lyrics she was singing. If they weren’t written above, I would’ve never known, either.
I would say that Jesus and Mary were the ones pointedly attacked, and with abortion no less.
there are a good number of women in the Bible who could be worthwhile “role-models” for any woman who cared to peruse the book looking for one.

She’s almost 40. And Pat Smear (Georg Ruthenberg of the not good Germs) is well in his 50’s. Grohl must be almost 50.
This is the type of lyric a teenager writes.

This is a hard saying which I have trouble with.

The more I know about Grohl, the less I enjoy Foo Fighters. He just sounds like a really vile dude.
