MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police found a child restrained in a southeast Memphis home Thursday.

Police say a girl inside the home called them and said her brother was chained up. Officers arrived and found an 8-year-old boy restrained inside the home.

Neighbors say the girl got a hold of a cellphone when her mother went to the grocery store.

Valerie Golden lives nearby and said her son played at the home and returned home to say the children there were hungry and one boy was chained to a fence one day and locked inside a shed another.

“My son has been telling me these kids are starving and they’re in the house with nothing to eat,” she said.

They should be able to house at least 20 illegals there I’d think.

And she never called the police?

If some one is hungry you don`t call the police, you take them some food.

IF the person(s) are callous enough to chain a child, AND starve their children you call the police as they are trained to handle such criminals. One is opening oneself up to much danger attempting to intercede in another's family by oneself. Leave it to the authorities, but call them so they are aware.

The boy was chained up or locked in shed when her child was there. And the children living there were frequently hungry.
Telling a neighbor who happens to be a cop & does nothing, requires a phone call every day until someone comes out

I know from following this story locally that they did call the police.

That used to be a wonderful safe neighborhood where children could run and play safely and people took pride in their homes. I lived one block from where this happened and it makes me sick to see what the neighborhood is today. We sold and moved in 1990 because of what was beginning to happen in the area. As you would expect, when Democrats move in, neighborhoods change and eventually become unlivable war zones populated by animals and a few who are economically trapped and living behind barred windows. My old house hasn’t been painted since I last painted it and my weed-free zoysia lawn, flower beds, and fruit trees are long gone.

The kids were foster kids, so of course the system did not care.
