A gender non-conforming teenager from South Carolina is demanding to have a driver's license retaken after DMV staff barred him from wearing make up. Chase Culpepper claims DMV staff said the make up should be removed because the teenager didn't look like how a boy should. The 16-year-old, who wears androgynous clothing and make up, agreed to the staff's demands to get a license, but now wants to have the photo redone.
Chase says staff claimed that DMV rules stated that the photo needed to show the person as they appear normally, and banned pictures taken in 'disguise'. 'This is who I am and my clothing and make-up reflect that,' Chase said. 'The Department of Motor Vehicles should not have forced me to remove my make-up simply because my appearance does not meet their expectations of what a boy should look like.'

I think it means a mentally ill child who is being abused by his parents ... abuse in this case consisting of them pandering to his insanity instead of seeking to cure it.
Such abuse has probably been going on for many years.
Most won’t allow you to wear a ball cap, even if you wear it when you drive. We are raising a nation of over sensitive, over reacting ninnies! Shame on us!

I’m a mom so I understand how it can happen. Children need structure, and there is no doubt that fathers are necessary. Even an abusive father is better than no father.
That type of enabling by a parent is more destructive than physical abuse as far as I’m concerned.
I think the kid is nuts and his mother is, too. But women wearing makeup changes their looks, too.
In fact, there are websites of celebrities without makeup and you wouldn’t recognize them. And anyone can dye their hair or cut it and look very different.
I just have a problem with a parent (saw his mother on the news - didn’t see a dad) thinking this is okay. Kids today are so screwed up. I can’t imagine a guy showing up at school like that when I was young.
I work with a very sweet lady whose son has recently decided to become transgendered or something. He is 20 and now dresses in girl clothes and makeup. His mother is devastated and hurt. It is causing problems in her marriage. What is wrong with kids???
I can’t even... this nation is upside down. This sort of behavior must be fostered in a child as they grow up. The left wants to coin new buzz terms like “gender normative.” Well, gender “normativity” is what this world has known since the beginning of time. It’s NORMAL for a reason. This idea that lambasting someone for aspiring to their gender roles is going to “fix” society is absolutely asinine.
The human species does not continue on this planet if “gender norms” aren’t followed. The left just wants America to die like an untended field of grapes. Rot on the vine, America, because it feels better to call yourself a grape when you’re really a raisin inside.
my youngest had to remove her glasses for both DMV and her passport photos, and she wears them always for vision correction since she can’t wear contacts. she didn’t bawl or whine about how they aren’t accepting how she normally LOOKS. the world has gone crazy, how terrible for your co-worker.
It’s CRAZY that we allow a 4 or 5 year old child to choose their gender at such a young age!

It’s crazier that the parent (face it, there’s no father in this picture) is allowing the child to accept this as fact.
The boomers seem to think that it’s acceptable to let their kids just grow up like a wild weed vs. a structure tree and then wonder why it is that society uproots them every time there’s a stiff breeze.
I was going to say the same thing. What the Hell is “gender non-conforming”????? It looks like a boy who wants to wear make-up.
The DMV has a right to make you look normal for your photo. You can’t wear a burqua or make up or a tinfoil hat on your head. People have tried all sorts of nonsense. Some make faces and the DMV tells them to take another picture. This has nothing to do with this boy wanting to wear make-up.
