* The Facebook founder pledged $100million to Newark schools in 2010 to bring sweeping educational reforms

* However, most of the money has been spent on labor contracts and consulting fees

* The money has had little impact on student performance so far

In his first major show of philanthropy, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made a splash by announcing his plan to give $100 million to help turn around Newark, New Jersey's public schools in an appearance on Oprah in 2010.

But nearly four years later, Zuckerberg's money has run out, having been spent mostly on labor contracts and consulting fees with no noticeable improvement in student performance, a report in the New Yorker reveals.

'Everybody's getting paid, but Raheem still can't read,' Vivian Cox Fraser, the president of the Urban League of Essex County, told the magazine.

It takes $3 billion to get Raheem to read.

Zuckerberg got robbed by bureaucrat psychopaths whose livelyhood depends on head counts of things called children.... or was it just a PR stunt he was not really into anyways.

He saw a way to bring rapid change through philanthropic donations, which require no public reviews on spending, and Governor Chris Christie got on board.

Oh.

Federal Judge Russel Clark spent BILLIONS of Missourian taxpayer dollars on the Kansas City school system in the late 80's and early 90's. The money might as well have been thrown into the sea.

See Money And School Performance: Lessons from the Kansas City Desegregation Experiment

They could have spent Trillions dollars and it would not have made a difference. You can't fix stupid.

I love seeing this pimply-faced leftist squander his money.

“The money has had little impact on student performance so far.”

Well, knock me over with a feather. Absolutely shocking.

The Pooblik Skrewl Collective is not repairable.

Only Jesus might be able to work such a miracle, and He isn’t doing Newark calls.

Fire all the staff and educators, allow independent and bonded testing by private businesses, and let the Urban Ferals take a small amount annually to support texts via Kindle.

Shut down and sell off the Hives - they are not working and are merely overly expensive baby sitting/crime schools.

With the sell off of those now not needed school buses, every Hippy can afford a diesel bus - Woodstock all over again, and Tie/Dye & folk songs is vastly preferable to Hoodies and rap.

Don’t forget, No Welfare - a hungry Urban Feral is an active one. Allowing them to get ‘thick’ on food stamps didn’t work, so perhaps work will work.

Even Jesus was said to have approved of it.

The young Harvard law grad genius Barack Obama showed how this is done back in the 90’s when he and his buddy Bill Ayers blew $100 Million on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge Project, in which everybody gave each other awards for public service, and in the end, the students showed zero improvement in skills, knowledge, or academic performance.

Years ago a book came out entitled “Why Johnny Can’t Read: And What You Can Do About It”. It was all the rage at the time.

Raheem is the politically correct updated verion of Johnny.

When I called Mark and asked about this he mused, "Hmmmm... maybe I should have given 200 million."

He’s clueless. He needs to learn that not everything in life comes as easy as stealing a great idea and running with it.
