Maccabi Tel Aviv Victory Sparks Torrent of Anti-Semitic Abuse 17,500 anti-Semitic tweets in one day

Twitter users in Spain posted 17,500 messages of anti-Semitic abuse after Israeli basketball team Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Real Madrid on Sunday to win the Euroleague Championship, Jewish associations said Tuesday.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is a perennial contender for the European basketball championship. But this year the team was so-so with no outstanding players and limped into the final eight playoffs, pulled an upset and got into the Final Four.

They drew CSKA Moscow in the semi-final, trailed the entire game by up to 15 points in the third period, but somehow pulled within one with 13 seconds to go. The Russians came down court, one passed to another who dropped the ball. Tyrese Rice, an American out of Boston College, the backup point guard, scooped it up, finished, and Maccabi won by one point.

Next up was Real Madrid led by a first-round draft choice of the Chicago Bulls at centre, the Euroleague MVP, and a young four-year NBA vet who was on the all-rookie team there his first year. Maccabi was led by a guy who was signed to be third string centre but played most of the games after the the team lost its main centre to injury in mid-season, with the second guy known as Baby Shack only playing limited minutes beccause he always fouls out early. All the rest were no-name journeymen. Playing great defence they stuck with Real Madrid and the game ended in a tie. At that point Rice went nuts and scored 14 points out of his 26, most of the rest coming in the fourth quarter, and Maccabi won the championship in a breeze, its six all-time Rice was named tournament MVP.

17,500 tweets, out of a population of 47 million. That "just goes to show" that all "the Spaniards" guilty of antisemitism?

Anyway, the gist of the article is that a Jewish group has filed a legal complaint over the tweets.

And they're just as adept and busy with disseminating propaganda (including denials and diversions) around the world as they were over the past couple thousand years. Islam controlled (conquered and ruled 711-1492) much of Spain and much of modern Spain’s culture and history is rooted in Islamic culture.
They hated the Muslims and then hated the Jews so nothing new here folks. Islam is retaking Spain all over again but by populating the country with Muslims and then making demands on the Christian (soon to be) minority.

The important thing is that the very tiny Jewish State defeated them on the court. Israel just got a modest payback for the Inquisition and expulsion of Jews from Spain.
