‘Ghostbuster’ cops keep raiding dead man’s home: suit

He’s been dead for eight years, but try telling that to the NYPD.

Cops have barged into James Jordan Sr.’s family home looking for him more than a dozen times since he died in 2006 — prompting his exasperated relatives to finally post his death certificate on the front door.

“I tell them over and over, ‘James isn’t here! He’s dead! It’s that simple. What’s so difficult to understand about that?’ ” the Brooklyn security guard’s widow, Karen, told The Post on Monday.

James Jordan Sr., who died from diabetes at age 46, was last arrested in 1996 — for turnstile-jumping, said Karen Jordan, who has filed a lawsuit against the city in Brooklyn federal court.

But cops still routinely ransack the family’s Bushwick home on Sumner Avenue, demanding to see him — coming four times this year alone, Jordan said.

The widow finally taped his death certificate to the door.

Once they get to kill a dog they’ll stop coming.

This wouldn’t happen if he would just quit voting post mortem.

Why are they pulling out drawers to look for a person, unless they are there simply to harass?

Police keep knocking because he's still voting the straight Democrat ticket.

If he was still voting the straight democrat ticket, they would leave him alone.

“... was last arrested in 1996.”

Notice the word “LAST.”

I suspect the widow is not telling everything about her deceased husband.

My educated guess is, they ain't looking for James Jordan Sr. They are trying to get something on someone else in the family. James Jordan Jr? They do not have enough evidence for a search warrant and that old arrest warrant is their ticket inside the apt.
The Jordan family probably needs their family lawyer Ugo Uzoh (Ugo Uzoh!!??) to obtain a restraining order and serve it. Of course serving a restraining order on the NYPD could get Ugo Uzoh dead.

"I suspect the widow is not telling everything about her deceased husband."

You are most likely right, but even if you are what makes it right for the police to continue coming into her home looking for a man 8 years dead? The guy was as you point out not a saint, but to defend the cops on this because she didn't come out an say her husband was no good doesn't justify in anyway way the Cops incompetence.

Malice and incompetence. The foundation of militarized law “enforcement” in America.

PS: In NYC jumping a turnstile probably ranks about even with failing to return a library book. Glad the NYPD has its priorities in order.

I think you’ve hit it.

His identity is probably still being used.

Probably not, because there is always the possibility the family would get another dog.

No. The family has no dogs to shoot.
