Lunar eclipse: ‘Blood moon’ sparks woes about biblical prophecy of apocalypse

The lunar eclipse this week will be the first of four "blood moons" and because significant events have occurred in history around the time of blood moon tetrads, many are wondering whether the biblical prophecy of the coming apocalypse is near. “Conspiracy websites draw parallels between lunar eclipses and historical events, like the fall of Constantinople and the founding of the State of Israel,” reports CTV News on April 13.

Pick a date out of the calendar and its a pretty fair bet that you can find some historical event taking place on that date in history.

What is your interpretation of:

Joel 2:31
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

Acts 2:20
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

Well, actually there are two clauses here.

1. The sun will be turned to darkness.
2. The moon will be turned to blood.

Now I’ve seen total lunar eclipses before, and it really is red, although of a copper hue (to me it looks like a penny!), but what about the sun turning to darkness? They can’t just mean nighttime because even at night it is daytime on the other half of the world.

If those words refer to solar and lunar eclipses, then both of those events have happened thousands of times since the days when those words were first written.

Pagans had all kinds of superstitions associated with celestial events.

It has to do with the blood moons happening on Passover and Yom Kippur ( I think) two years running.

The last time it happened was the Yom Kippur war. This also happen with the birth of Israel and the destruction of the temple.

There is a track record. It’s not great.

Deuteronomy 4:19 And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

It is a moment of choice.

The USA is led by an impostor who supports al Qaeda
and his Iranian partners,
and who has whittled down the borders and security,
while arming terrorists and narcoterrorists,
while sending his toadies out to sack Jerusalem for Islam.

Bad choice.

Just like the Noah movie.

WHAT a disappointment "Noah" was! Crowe and Hopkins are always good and the flood STOLE THE SHOW. The rest? Yaaawwwwnn. Emma Watson was horribly miscast...all her lovely accent and diction wasted on that part.

If I hadn't eaten 20 boxes of popcorn and 10 candy bars I would have been PISSED. :o)
