Less than six months on the job, the mayor of Charlotte was arrested Wednesday and accused of accepting more than $48,000 in bribes from undercover FBI agents posing as businessmen who wanted to do work with North Carolina's largest city.
Mayor Patrick Cannon, a 47-year-old Democrat who rose from the city's public housing projects to become a successful businessman and politician, faces federal theft and bribery charges.
Cannon accepted more than $48,000 in cash, airline tickets, a hotel room and the use of a luxury apartment as bribes and solicited more than $1 million more, according to a criminal complaint....

Sounds like New Jersey. I remember around 8 years ago they arrested a DemocRAT Mayor in Jersey practically a month after he took office for shaking people down. And what did the morons there do? Replace him with another Democrat. Same with New York city, all the time they bust DemocRATS in the minority neighborhoods for doing everything from ripping off charities to shaking down people to giving their boyfriends or girlfriends 6 figure income “jobs” in which they do absolutely nothing. And of course the morons replace them with more DemocRATS.
Perhaps the only bargaining chip on the table was Philadelphia? IIRC, the newly elected AG (D) in the state of Pennsylvania shut down all the investigations into the wrongdoing in that state. Yep, it was democRATs that were set to go down according to the rumors but is this a rumor?

This country is never going to recover until we clean out the corruption of Democratically-held cities. I know a lot of freepers don’t like big cities, but I do, and until they are run by responsible, traditional, honest adults, we are never going to re-achieve greatness.
