That’s what I was thinking too. My cats would become un-conditioned after about 10 seconds that the red light failed to turn into food.
That wouldn't even have dragged my cat out of her 23 hour bed..........
My kid’s cat got so neurotic from laser play they stopped using it.
Took a couple of days for the cat to quit walking on egg shells waiting for the next blip to appear.
Talking about cats being in charge.
My daughter gave me a ‘toy’ for my cats, a laser toy.
They really ‘loved’ it, running around, falling over each other but it turns out they were planning an ‘assault’ on me.
A few hours after the ‘playtime’ was over and they were back in their ‘natural activities’ - sleeping - I got up to go in the other room and damn if the room didn’t start spinning on me. I used the old ‘vertigo’ tricks but it felt like I were in an ‘exorcist’ setting as my eyes felt like they were turning over and my head wouldn’t stop spinning.
It took me a few days to completely get over it and since it had NEVER happened to me before (other than the occasional light headedness when getting up to fast or when overly tired).
All I could figure was that I was more interested in following the bouncing, darting light than the cats were.
Also, I ‘put away’ the laser toy and have had NO more ‘attacks’ so I am assuming it was the cause and it has been just about a year since the ‘event’.
So, I think the cats were ‘setting me up’ as I had been disturbing their normal 22 hr nap...Only 22 hrs because they are kittens....now about a year and a half old...
