Has anyone else notice that since Putin called Obama's bluff on the Ukraine that the word, "invasion," which Obama warned Putin against has disappeared from the media's narrative and been replace by the word, "occupation?"

It seems that the media is going all out to make it seem like Putin did not call Obama's bluff by playing the word association game again. I guess it will be what the meaning of "invasion" is.

Technically, they’re right. It’s only an invasion until it is successful. Then it’s an occupation.

I’m more concerned about how all of Obama’s domestic disasters have disappeared from the media.

An invasion would imply forces coming in from Russia. I think Russian forces already in Ukraine are taking control the Crimean peninsula.

Obama is a disaster on every level and Van Hollen was on TV this morning whining about how this makes Obama look weak overall and Americans need to be worried about the successes of Obamacare rather than the Ukraine, riiight!

For those of us old enough to remember, it took the Carter Administration a few weeks to consider the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan an actual invasion and it started the same way as in Ukraine with them taking over the airports and government building.

While Obama’s media is playing games of semantics, Putin is reaching out and taking more territory with little opposition. What has the more lasting effect?

Maybe because the invasion is over the occupation has begun?

The new term arrived after Bam's "90 minute, sleeves rolled up conversation" with Vlad. The term had to be changed due to the very stern warning of a "Double Secret Probation" to be levied against Russia by Bam if Vlad went beyond "liberating" more than the Ukraine, Georgia and Poland!

Peace for a thousand years will be proclaimed by Bam and his minions!!!

There are some good analogies between the the two events, like both being in support of pro-Russian governments that were recently toppled.

No, I have not noticed, But then I confess to only keeping a peripheral eye on the whole thing. But if the MSM has to do anything to protect their investment in THE ONE, they will do it either by the sins of lying or omission. Not a stretch to think they wouldn’t.

That’s because the blitzkrieg, uh, I mean the “invasion”
phase has finished already and the “occupation” phase has started. Viva la nuevo Soviet Union!

Keep in mind also the media are apologists for our enemies, and particularly for the old USSR. I watched a sickening display on tv this morning in which it was all so understandable that Russia take over the Ukraine.

After all they are neighbors. isn’t that what neighbors do?

So yes, it’s an occupation (at least for Crimea). Invasion complete before anyone realized it started.

Doesn’t an occupation happen after an invasion? Is this an acknowledgement that the invasion is over?

This former invasion was planned years ago, who Putin shifted his best troops and equipment to his Southern Boarder in 07-08, when Palin warned about this and Liberals laughed. Notice that the media sold tried to sell Americans on the lie that only masked Men(Russian Special Forces)were seizing control of key bases and regional buildings.
