When Jeff Gordon and Pepsi teamed up in 2013 to stage an undercover “test drive” with a supposedly terrified car dealer, Jalopnik’s Travis Okulski called out the professional racer for faking the stunt, characterizing it as “duplicitous.”
So Gordon decided to get back at the writer by staging another stunt. And it’s hilarious.
“With a little help from Okulski’s bosses, they got Okulski into a cab in North Carolina, and, well … magic happens,”Yahoo Sports explains.

I think most people would react the way the salesman did even if they KNEW it was Jeff Gordon who was driving like an idiot.
Cool video but I don’t believe any part of it. The liabilities would be enormous, far more than Gordon and Pepsico would want to be exposed to.
Can't tell who to believe, there is no penalty when a journalist lies through his teeth.

How about this silly ass scenario: When Gordon pulls over and gets all worked up and starts making ‘I’m gonna run’ notions, the ‘passenger panics, and thinking he is helping out the cops, pulls out his concealed handgun, points it at Gordon and screams at him to knock this crap off NOW!!! But Gordon freaks and floors it and the gun ‘goes off’. Opps......the end of ‘Speed Racer’!!!!
Imagine anything going wrong, a blowout, mechanical failure, or any other unforeseen calamity that resulted in an injury or death of the passenger. He could even sue because he claimed to have been terrified and now has PTSD. Neither Gordon or Pepsico would want that liability. For those reasons, I just can't believe this is real.
Reality TV is seldom real.

I hate practical jokes. Laughter is dependent on making a fool out of someone, in a pre-mediated way, and with the coordination of people the victim trusts. How come bullying is frowned upon and this is ok and funny?
I agree 100%. Pathetic crap imho. To think also that there are FReepers who think this ‘gag’ was on the square and not a ‘set-up’, is a bit pathetic also.
