Even if you are not shopping for a Glock 42, this is still an excellent comparison of many single stack pistols on the market.
There are almost an overwhelming number of options for a .380 or 9mm concealed carry weapon.
Hopefully this video helped you glean some information.

I’ve heard multiple people swear by the M&P Shield. I haven’t fired one yet but plan on rectifying that soon.

Remington R51 looks like a better fit for me.

Why would someone prefer this to a Ruger LCP in .380? I love Glocks and have never had any problems with them but what would make me want to replace the Ruger? Just curious.

I had a S&W Bodyguard 380 until I replaced with a Sig P290 recently. Even the 9mm Sig is smaller than the G42. When they make that gun in 9mm, I’ll buy one. But if I want a 380 I’ll stick with the Bodyguard.

Crap. Shows a Diamondback but nowhere is an HnK. Glock 42 is a nic3 handgun, comparing it to a Diamondback is an insult.

I guess he left HnK out either out of ignorance, or price as I think he was trying to stay below $500 and HnK’s are more expensive (worth it, IMO. Never had any of my HnK’s jam or fail to eject a cartridge properly. But then, you get what you pay for and it pays to inspect your ammo.)

OMG I've been to this 'Pawn'. It's barely a pawn, it's much more a gun store. They have a firing range that includes rifle up to .308. You are also allowed to use bump-fire technology, and they have MG's for rent.

These are the coolest people in the world. I recognize the ammo layout in the back, and the mounted guns on the wall.

Should be in 9mm. Kinda big for a .380

Mostly because I have a completely irrational hatred of Glock’s.

At this point in history, I think most any of the modern striker-fired polymer-framed pistols from the leading manufacturers are serviceable, accurate and reliable — either right out of the box or can be made so without too much work or fuss.

Personally, I prefer double-stack Glocks for mag & holster interchangeability, but opinions do vary for different (quite valid) needs and uses.

Do you like the p290? I am getting one myself soon.

I thought about going with the 938, but for the money, the p290 seemed like a better value.

I opined earlier that modern pistol tech is getting to the point where most any of them will do, just pick a caliber. I think a lot of it comes down to how it feels in your hand and what you can comfortably conceal on your body, presuming someone is shopping for concealment.

Personally, I can carry a G26 in my front jeans pocket in a DeSantis Super-Fly and not print a pistol shape. For IWB, my build would let me carry just about anything short of a big Desert Eagle. With me, an LCP almost looks comical -- like a key-chain adornment.

What you said. If they had produced a 9mm the same size as the g42, customers would have stormed the barricades.

I nener got use to the feel of the Glock. Too wide for me. Even their compacts have the bulky grips. The gen 4 is much better.

I’ve had it for about 3 months. It carries easily, shoots well (300 rds through it). I’m a big fan of DAO for my carry pistol, so it fits my requirements perfectly.
