Lady, you need to get your own damn gun.
The cops will NEVER get there in time to save you.

Back around 1960 a cop in Mobile, Alabama survived an attempted murder. The perp pulled the trigger six times and the gun never fired.
The cops later checked the gun and all six shells had dimples in the primers. The guns hammer fall was just a little too weak to set them off.
If I were that cop, I would definitely think it was a miracle.

Pistol grips on a blunderbuss will kill you before you ever hit the target. Never could understand the appeal to that. I did take a special pleasure watching the little punk with the sleeve tattoos getting knocked off the porch. She stepped up all full of attitude.

My mother in law is alive today because the cops told her to get a gun and she listened. Her ex had a history of violence. He would beat her up, the cops would take him in, he would get out, and simply do it again. 2 hours after purchasing the gun, he got out, kicked the door in, and got blasted. He survived but never messed with her again. Eventually he was beaten to death and left on the side of the road in Magnolia, TX.

The cops will NEVER get there in time to save youNo, but these days, they might get there in time to kill you, or if not you, then your dog.

My father was a cop in Oakland, CA. Back when it was fun.
He told me a lot of hair-raising stories through the years but there was one that always comes to mind as a miracle.
A perp was surrounded by police, holed up in his house. He spent the day shooting at any cops that dared try to approach. My dad and his partner were able to get behind the house unseen and entered. The guy was in the front room, still shooting. My dad tried to sneak up and grab him from behind but the guy heard him and turned around. The gun was brought level to my dad’s face and the perp pulled the trigger... and nothing happened. My dad quickly disarmed him and took him down.
They looked at the gun. It had fired flawlessly all day but the last bullet was dimpled without firing. When it’s your time, that’s it. But when it isn’t, it isn’t.

" The heat, cold and humidity had taken its toll on the bullets."I don't think so. Maybe WD-40 played a part.....

I did a ride-along with an officer who was shot in the head with a .22 - it hit straight between his right eye and ear from the front.
The bullet went perfectly between his skin and skull, and skimmed around the back of his head, staying under the skin the whole time.
You could fire a million rounds and never duplicate that.

Same thing happened to me in 1974: robbed and shot at 15-20ft, bullet entered my left side, no bleeding except large red lump w/ black dot in center (hematoma) on hip, missed all bones, organs, arteries, veins, nerves etc. Still carry it today. Doc at S. Miami Hosp Trauma Ctr said "I was luckiest SOB he'd seen in 22yrs in Trauma Ctr work. God was truly sitting on your shoulder tonite."
