A top aide to the Rev. Al Sharpton will be getting $170,000 a year from taxpayers to serve as chief of staff to Chirlane McCray, Mayor de Blasio’s wife.

The mayor confirmed the prominent position that his wife is set to play at City Hall with the appointment of Rachel Noerdlinger, who has worked for Sharpton since 1999.

OMG. So now any veils are cast aside and we know that Sharpton will be the de facto mayor, and Big Dope was just his beard to get elected by imbeciles. And just WHAT qualifications does dear little Chirlane--ex-lesbian--have to justify being on board with staff? That would pay the salaries of a senior school principal or 2 senior teachers. Which are needed a heck of a lot more than an amateur "partner in everything".

I couldn’t care less what New York (city or state) does. I don’t expect they’ll be in the same country as us after this is all shaken out.

Hey, thanks for all the support to a NYC conservative.

I’m not against you, I’m against your governor, the mayor of NYC and many of the politicians and residents there. BTW, the welcome mat is out down here.

...getting $170,000 a year

Wait a minute. Mayor de Blasio campaigned hard against income inequality. A $170,000 salary is not equal to the average NYC salary.

So it's a misprint. Or it even could be a Marxist prank. I'll bet the salary is really $17,000 a year.

She’s following Michelle’s example. Not elected to anything, but behaves like she is. I hope Mrs. DeB’s schemes work as well as Mrs. O’s attempts at controlling school lunch content.

I wondered the same. This governing business is expensive, isn’t it? I guess it’s 10 (or more) for 1, when voting.

What if regular jobs worked like political jobs. We would be hired on and we could then employee all of our family and friends.

Good luck to you EinNYC! Oh wait, aren’t you supposed to leave the state, per Cuomo?

You can come over here to NJ like I did, as Archie Bunker said: NJ will take anybody!

And I live in a nice republican part of the state too. When we first moved here our neighbor’s had a McCain/Palin sign in their yard. It was like being in an alternate universe!

...so, NYC voters have an unelected individual on the City’s dole who has a staff member making over 6 figures, what gives? It is quite obvious that this DiBlasio guy will turn NYC into a chess pool within a few months. Then there’s Governor Coumo and his anti-conservative, anti-pro-life rant. Heard that Hannity is leaving New York state... I’m willing to bet that a lot of wealthy folks will follow... and take their money and wealth with them.

“The wife of the mayor needs a Chief of Staff?”

And even worse, if there’s a Chief of Staff, there must be a whole staff just for the mayors wife! Who knew NYC was going to be run by a new royalty!

They couldn’t do much worse with the school lunches. Frozen carb crap nuked to a fare-thee-well, that’s what the poor kids get. There are salads and way-overcooked veggies, but usually only the girls take any of those. The cookie/snack machine gets plenty of play. I cannot figure out why there is a cookie/snack machine vending pure garbage to compete with the at least semi-nutritious cafeteria food.

Thanks, Vet. I have a lot of friends here that I would not want to leave. I have 21 years in the ed system, not going to toss that away, it's too hard-won. And, my neighborhood has the amenities to support my religious life. Hard to find an Orthodox synagogue or a kosher pizza joint out of town, except for a very few cities.

So, I will have to tough it out through this commie lunatic and his loony-tunes wifey who has delusions of grandeur. The first educational ball he's tossed, that crazy principal who doesn't come into her school or comes at 11 a.m. and the teachers are harassed halfway to heck, the kids have no books, etc.--she's still the principal of that unfortunate school. He hasn't ordered her removed. We teachers (who trade emails and texts a LOT) are not impressed.

Cuomo knows, for my money, where he can go. It’s waaaay down south, with very warm temperatures. BYOP (bring your own pitchfork).
