Btw, it is 150 times harder to “mine” Bitcon now, hashing wise, than it was only about eight months ago.

Not to mention Litecoin and Feathercoin etc. I read that Litecoin is basically the “silver” if Bitcoin is “gold”

The Bitcoin network is distributed all over the world. That would be an awfully big switch to flip.Someone has not been watching "Revolution."
Actually I watched the first two or three and said "Meh."

Who gets the actual money when buying a bitcoin?

Having read much of the comments in this thread, I hope bitcoin ping, or bitcoin discussion doesn’t get banned from FR...it has been known to happen here that some speech is not tolerated, if the majority dislikes it, you know more like a democracy than a republic.
That being said I realize this is a privately owned enterprise and can do what it wants.
Looking for that next big dip in bitcoin to buy in, I’ll be ready to rumble, I’m guessing around May-July time frame as bitcoin mining peters out, but every opportunity to buy low and sell high will be welcome, lots and lots of volatility to enjoy in bitcoin.

Government is the greediest, most corrupt and murderous force on Earth.
Government-minted currency is designed to be manipulated by banksters and government-insiders.
Bitcoin cannot be manipulated by banksters and government insiders.
Any questions?
