Researchers from Michigan have scoured websites, search engine results and social networks dating back as far as 1996 in search of people who discussed select events before they happened.

They even asked time travellers from the future to tweet using a specific hashtag.

Yet despite comprehensive analysis of thousands of records, they were unable to find any evidence time travellers existed.

That’s because in adherence to the Prime Directive, they’ve already scrubbed the Internet of all traces of their existence.

Something interesting. A Korean show involving time travel, the woman who went to change her past was told by the guide that when she returned to the future that time would return to the way it had been before she left.

Statistically, there SHOULD be several instances of documented time travel,...unless it really is true, in which case they would have returned and erased all such trace.

(Of course, now that this has been posted, either it must be erased, or allowed to remain as will other posts documenting time travel, so it might be not believed....)

I knew someone would post that one.

First thing I thought of.

“Your travels are futile!”
Pretty much one theory.
Since “you” exist as an unaltered remnant of the previous timeline, it could revert upon your return - if you could.
Who knows.
If it were possible, we might not know.

My theory was that we would be traveling to another timeline and it might change but ours won’t

It will never work. In fact I have all the facts and I'm going to lay them out today. First of all...

And with that information, their plot has been exposed to the world.

Obviously a federally funded study, right?

Who the hell remembers the name of the comet? How is it important?

And, apparantly, the pope isn’t too vital, either.

Two topics. One obscure. The other only matters to a select group.

Time travel is not possible.
Consider this; the “future” where the traveler would come from would have to figure out where the Milky Way was at a particular point in time (that alone would be massive computations). Beyond locating where the Milky Way WAS, they would then have to figure out how much our spiral galaxy actually spiraled. Then the location of our solar system within that spiral, our point along the galactic plain, and the where the Earth was in relative to all those moving parts as our solar system went about its business. As of the creation of this thread, the Milky Way has moved approx 3024000 km’s through “space”. Given that, we truly don’t know if that is a straight trajectory or maybe Andromeda is tugging on us a bit, there is not way for the future to map where we are (to them were) since we really don’t know what exactly is the end of our universe and where we truly are in it. Since everything seems to be moving away from us (minus our buddy Andromeda who will join us in a couple billion years) we have no real bearing.

Do they really think those of us who time travel are that stupid? Oh blast! I didn’t say that did I?

Better go now!

A time traveler is more likely to be personally motivated to change his or her own life path than world events. Someone is more likely to post a time stamped message “Don’t go out with the date you had planned for tonight” or “say sorry and go back to her” or “she’s pregnant with your kid” to the father who was absent due to ignorance.
And in those cases, the interference with the past isn’t going to be future time stamped but simply a notice like email or BBS notification to a particular person, not a “I’m from the future, XYZ political event happens in 3 weeks”.

Sorry, but RULE ONE in the Time Travelers’ Manual is to NEVER post or discuss anything retrievable about ANY future event. Acting on the knowledge of something that will be happening is OK but the Traveler must never truthfully say exactly why the action is being taken.

Violation of Rule One will result in the Traveler being prevented from coming into existence.

Got it. I was able to copy it before they erased it. It unequivocally proves

Now they won’t be able to call us Conspiracy theorists any longer.

As I recall, time stops when you are moving at the speed of light. That’s a nice feature that allows you to travel into the future by just maintaining your c level speed while others get older and watch their taxes increase.

It is not known if any biological creature has accomplished this feat but is an everyday occurrence for the mighty photon. These guys move at the speed of light whether they want to or not and so they simply have no concept of what yesterday or tomorrow might mean.
