Re branding Old Media
Self | 01/04/14 | Billhilly

After being told by old and relentless image makers and propagandists that some things are are what they are not, and after a quick Google search, and seeing that I am not going where someone else has already gone, here are two new additions, one of which I recently used on FR.

Since the left has called conservatives Wing Nuts, let's return the serve to them with Nutwing.

The washed out alphabet television news organizations and major city Newspapers are being complimented by being called mainstream, and since they are all washed up, let's henceforth call them by the much more appropriate name, dry stream media.

This can be an amusing and productive game for us to play and who knows, some of us may change the game.

I think that Sarah’s “lamestream” does the job pretty well.

Not looking to take anything away from Sarah Palin, but “lamestream &(LSM)” were being used on Free Republic long before she became mainstream. I know I was using it back in at least ‘03 and know I picked it up from here.

Sure. We can add that arrow to our quiver. Switch up and call them the Nut Wing Media or NWM every once in awhile.

I'm all for anything that gets the presstitutes frothing at the mouth.

Quite true. Sarah just popularized it. She has been a friend of FR.

American Pravda Press. Communicates that their only role now is to serve as a pure propaganda outfit. I only seem to see news of merit, from England.

I recall Brian Wilson on KSFO evenings using the term lamestream media. Wilson was on KSFO in the late 1990s ending in 2002 I recall. He also used the word presstitutes.

(He always kidded that he was the Brian Wilson of a popular group back in the '60s. I never cared a whit about that group back then and for a long time I believed that we was serious.)

I think Limbaugh's "Drive-by Media" gets to them more than anything. It suggests exactly what they are: superficial, insubstantial -- to which I suggest including smatterers (approach superficially; dabble in) as in Media Smatters)

or my own term: Skid marks on Journalism's shorts.

I would like to see someone ask media members what they hope to gain, or what their long range objective is in promoting the progressive agenda.

They should get a refresher course on how French collaborators with the Nazis were executed after Paris fell even though they had helped them along so they could have good positions in the new order. The Germans explained that if they [the collaborators] could turn against their oven people, surely they would never trust them themselves.

Someday, if there is any justice, the members of the liberal media will pay for what they are doing to the country. They will be exposed and publicized for who they are and what they are. Instead of getting trophies and red carpets they will be shamed forever and remembered in history as the scum that they are. People like Brian Ross and Dan Rather should be ridiculed, not praised. (just my opinion)

As long as we are rebranding the media, I think they need a nifty new symbol. In honor of their commitment to freedom, justice and tolerance, I would like to suggest that we brand them all, individually, with the hakenkreuz. That symbol worked really well for the last media organization that used it.
