Hoops, baby, HOOPS! Although a big orange softball on a snowy field would be fun...
;^)
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Winter Classic from my couch, but I’m glad I wasn’t actually at the game. Hats off to the 105,000 who braved the weather!
I’m not even a hockey and I watched some of it just because it was different.
I noticed one report of 43 below in Int’l Falls yesterday which broke the old Jan. 2nd record of 42 below.
But NOAA “only” reported minus 42, which would make it a tie.
Seems 55 below (F) is still the all-time winter low.
Thanks! LOL...
Yeah, I musta caught a wind chill number as I was crusin’ full speed looking for the end of the Internets.
Ah hell there’s as many numbers out there as there is liars in the media, right?
And if they can make it sound even worse they will.
I was raised in North Dakota on a healthy skepticism for that crap. When they first started talking about wind chill my dad would growl, “B.S., it’s fourteen below with a 22 mile an hour wind, and that’s all it is—fourteen below!”
Many years later he had similar opinions. “Doppler radar my ass. I can call anyone in Williston, 75 miles west of here, and get a better forecast on the phone than from these frauds!”
Amazing how much smarter they get the older you get along with them, ain’t it?
