The Boy Scouts of America will accept openly gay youths starting New Year's Day, marking a historic shift that spells major changes to policies on tentmates and showers.

Yet despite their be-prepared approach, BSA leaders are rooting for the change to be a non-event, comparable to another New Year's Day in 2000 when widespread fears of digital-clock chaos to start the new millennium proved unfounded.

Also, politically correct corporate donors will pull out of the Boy Scouts (so to speak) in sympathy for the 18-year old Eagle Scout who is deprived of his constitutional rights to be an assistant Scoutmaster.

Before 2014 is over, the BSA will have become overcome with homosexual scout leaders. This policy of denial for homo-leaders was forfeited last May.

Back in 1999 I was a visiting professor in Turkey. During a school holiday I took a tour. One evening I was walking along a beach and saw what looked like a council fire laid out, ready to be lit. I waited a few minutes, and sure enough, some Scouts showed up. They were Muslims, though. I didn't know there were Muslim Scouts. Anyway, I'll bet they're not going to invite the queers to join up.

At the 2007 World Scout Jamboree, I camped next to Muslim Scouts from Algeria and across the 'street' from Muslim Scouts from Malaysia.

At the time, Scouting existed in some form in every country of the world except six: Cuba, People's Republic of China, Myanmar/Burma, North Vietnam, Cambodia, and Andorra.

It's the communists who have a problem with Scouting, not the Muslims.

They do own bakeries, photography studios, bridal shops and C&W night clubs. Which, to me, proves it is not about being accepted or being treated equally, it is about destroying the constitution and anyone who retains fundamental christian values.
