The problem is that our understanding of both particle physics and the geometry of gravity is incomplete.

“Having gone from basically philosophical understandings of why things fall to mathematical descriptions of how things accelerate down inclines from Galileo, to Kepler’s equations describing planetary motion to Newton’s formulation of the Laws of Physics, to Einstein’s formulations of relativity, we’ve been building and building a more comprehensive view of gravity. But we’re still not complete,” said Dr. Pamela Gay. “We know that there still needs to be some way to unite quantum mechanics and gravity and actually be able to write down equations that describe the centers of black holes and the earliest moments of the Universe. But we’re not there yet.”

Isn’t the biggest obstacle one of perception? Everybody tries to visualize the physical — when we simply can’t. Like Flat people trying to figure out 3d people.

A guy from Texas once told me that the reason why Texas hasn’t left the union is because of how much Oklahoma sucks.

But I’m not taking sides — don’t have a dog in that fight.

OK, so...

I just found this guy, this physicist, not the most dynamic speaker, but either way, he address’s this issue.

Anthony Rizzi, PhD

Anthony Rizzi is a physicist with degrees from MIT (B.S., phys.) and Princeton (PhD, phys.) with over 20 years combined experience in experimental and theoretical physics, including solving an 80 year old problem in Einstein’s theory. He also has made important contributions to the Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory (LIGO) in Louisiana, has taught graduate courses at LSU, and has done research on manned and unmanned mars spacecrafts. As a staff physicist and design engineer at Lockheed-Martin, he received a NASA Award and a New Technology Award.
