Suicide by cop.
What kind of kid rams a cop car and revs his engine when asked to turn it off?
Horrible loss of life, but this kid was destined for what based on this behavior? Did this kid love his weed or other drugs, why this behavior?
There is no problem that can’t be made worse than by calling the cops.
Entitlement will get ya killed. And it doesn’t matter if you are regular criminal or someone’s boy throwing a temper tantrum.
This wasn’t one of those newer trucks, which can be remotely controlled, is it?
Interesting concept. Colliding with a publicly owned vehicle and revving your engine in contravention of an order from a police officer is a crime punishable by summary execution without trial and due process. Well, at least the cops got home safely that night.
While for the most part, I find that police=organized crime, I’m with the cops on this one.
Something is stolen or vandalized and you need a report number for insurance. Don't expect your property to be recovered.
You are in genuine fear for your life and you are completely out of other options. No access to weapons or ammo, no path to retreat/escape/evade, etc.
You have resolved a life-threatening issue and you are legally required to notify the police to come make a report, take a statement, draw the chalk outline(s) and haul away the body or bodies.
Other than that, in my experience adding law enforcement to a situation makes it worse.
I’ve said it here a thousand times........”Never-Ever call the police or government authorities for anything whatsoever.” - My grandmother, who was wife to a president of Bell Telephone in the 50’s and 60’s.
If your vehicle is stolen or vandalized, you call your attorney, who calls the cops. You do not get involved whatsoever without your attorney, even if you are the victim.
wow
It is the disrespect for the police IMO that caused most of this.
Why ram a cop car and rev and engine when asked to turn it off? A different generation of people would have listened to the officers and not had a hissy fit to death.
The kid was acting stupidly, but I wonder if the cops had heeded the two calls from dispatch and quit chasing him, would it have turned out differently?
The kid learned his lesson I guess.

_______
Obtuse comment or purposeful propaganda.
Probably the latter.
Ping.
Once again a misleading headline.
He was not killed over cigarettes or his father’s attempt to teach him a lesson, he was killed as a direct result of his own aggressive actions that endangered the lives of other people.
This is no different than a headline saying Trayvon was shot walking home, when of course he was shot while he was actively beating up a person he had pinned to the ground.
When will we ever get accurate headlines in these stories? The biased opinions of readers starts right with the headline that helps to lead them to the wrong understanding of an event.
