The A-10 should belong to the Army. AF certainly hates it. Ground pounders are the biggest user of the A-10 anyway.
I say the above as a former zoomie.

saw these doing a demo in Tucson, AZ.
Instantly became my new favorite aircraft. It was awesome. They seem to float while unleashing a $hitstorm of death.
The demo was so realistic I was afraid some sort of accident happened from all the smoke.

That reminds me of the FUNNIEST sight I saw just yesterday on State Road 7 in Florida.
It was a HUGE Behemoth of a tow truck pulling a “smart (dumbass) car. The juxtaposition made me LOL right in my own vehicle! hahaha

Seems like there has always been talk of discontinuing the A-10 due “shifting missions” and whatnot but it’s still the best way to go from someone I don’t like has a tank to someone I don’t like used to have a tank.

The A-10 must be hated because it is such a relatively cheap plane. Oh yeah, it’s old. So let’s rebuild B-52’s...I’m sure the upgrade package for a B-52 at this point must cost 3x what a whole new A-10 would cost. An unmanned A-10 would be an utterly awesome battlefield-clearer.
