Ted Turner: Men Should Be Barred From Political Office For 100 Years
NewsBusters ^ | Sept 23, 2013 | Noel Sheppard

Posted on 09/23/2013 8:35:35 AM PDT by Kip Russell

Media mogul Ted Turner reiterated an absolutely absurd idea Sunday.

Appearing at the International Women's Earth and Climate Summit in New York City, Turner proposed “men be barred from political office. They could do everything else, be president of universities, business leaders, but they just couldn’t serve in any elected position for 100 years” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

TED TURNER: Well, I came up with the idea at least 20 years ago that we needed more women in politics. It would take a different turn. And I suggested that men be barred from political office. They could do everything else, be president of universities, business leaders, but they just couldn’t serve in any elected position for 100 years.

[Laughter and applause]

I think we’d have a lot more emphasis on education and healthcare and a lot less on Army and the Navy and the Marine Corps.

[Laughter and applause]

It would be a very positive step, but it hasn’t happened yet. But it still might.

It should read, “girls men should not run for office for 100 years.”

It really is the fault of effete men like Obama who have mommy issues and ingrained narcissism.

She obviously couldn’t get into her Barberella outfit and dumped her.

Shouldn’t he give all of his money to the needy?

Pray America is Waking Up

See, Ted is disconnected from reality. Since he doesn’t even drive himself around anywhere —he doesn’t even share the road with women. That experience alone would tell you that most (not all, but a solid majority) should never hold office, any position of authority and really should not operate heavy machinery like automobiles.

idiots who say crap like this should study women in power historically

try English and French regents and consorts and dowagers from the 12th thru 17th century

especially the Aquitaine and Anjou and Burgandian women folk married into the English crown

they were incredibly tough and brutal and ambitious at times and had no fear to rule to see their progeny got theirs

the only difference for them was usually when they lost they were not beheaded and piked..they just lived in the Tower...or were later ransomed back to some dauphin in Normandy

the Spanish and Italian noblewomen were no different

I would bet the Hapsburgs too

it’s fantasy to think women rule better and sweeter than men

and anyonw married knows this

women are like chihuahuas...it’s a good thing they are usually less physical than men or otherwise the world would be even less safe

I cannot imagine an entire lawmaking body, along with a chief executive and court system of ALL women.

It would be the end of the world - literally.

No men allowed to run.

Well, that excludes Hillary.

Of course, white women vote significantly more conservatively than black or Asian or Hispanic men.

Yep. So few we can list them off the top of our head. (Valerie Jarrett does not hold a government office.)

Consider this: Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein are in office. Sarah Palin is not. No sale, Teddy.

Did he recite this latest epiphany from his ‘eye lids’ like he usually does?

Cretin, just so disconnected from reality it’s scarey to witness.

Ted has done only ONE thing right his entire life and that is making the film “Gettysburg”. Other than that, a complete imbecile

Why does anyone care what this buffoon has to say? It’s obvious that a big bank account does not guarantee high intellect!

Maybe John F'ing Kerry can fill in for her?
