I agree about having time for kids to just explore and play. I homeschooled both children until 9th grade. Daughter self taught Algebra 1 before she entered public 9th. Son didn’t know a what a division sign meant by 9th public(busy with other things) LOL. Both daughter and son averaged A in math. Why try to shove things down the throats of young children and destroy their love of learning?

As soon as you’re born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
They hurt you at home and they hit you at
school
They hate you if you’re clever and they despise
a fool
Till you’re so f**king crazy you can’t follow their
rules

Of course, they should be home with their mothers, learning how to be civilized before entering school

Absolutely - and to develop a sense of self as an individual. then, fortified with these things, they are less suseptible to brain washing and becoming a compliant herd animal, not an individual with indivdual thoughts or rights.

Many years ago, I was a speaker on a panel with our state's Dept. of Ed. at their yearly conference. (I was on the oppositions side.)

During a break, I found one of the 'educators' portfolios for the conference that they had inadvertanly left behind.

Into my bag it went and it came home with me.

One of the things they were pushing for was to get kids into Head Start by age 2. Their rationale, not stated publically, of course, was: "WE must get the children by age 2, before their parents have instilled THEIR values in them." (This conference was 30 years ago.)

children from good homes with parents can wait for school till age 7.

Children from chaotic homes, no stable parents and no structure at home need school!

Different environments. Actually kids frommbad homes need boarding school.

Interesting, age six or seven is also the intellectual capacity that they are graduating with.

Because some kids have poor parents doesn’t mean those with good ones should be forcefully institutionalized at an ever younger age.

That’s a pretty good summation.
