How is your SIL in Golden with all the flooding? A few miles from my house Coal Creek washed away highway 72 in Coal Creek Canyon so I don’t have a direct drive out anymore. It is now a long drive to get to Golden Gate Canyon to get down to Golden.

NASCAR Statement:

Helton and France announce that Jeff Gordon will be joining the Chase as the 13th driver

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2013) – Following a comprehensive review of all
available audio and video communications from last Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series race at Richmond International Raceway, along with interviews with team personnel,
NASCAR announced Friday the following decision:

· Both the Front Row Motorsports and Penske Racing organizations have been placed
on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31 for violating Section 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing).

· A 13th car – the No. 24 – would be added to this year’s Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

“Based on all of our findings this week, we determined both Front Row Motorsports and Penske
Racing organizations would be placed on probation for the remainder of this season,”
said Brian France, NASCAR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Additionally, based
upon the totality of our findings, to be fair and equitable we decided that adding a 13th
car to this year’s Chase is the appropriate action.

“Beginning with our decision Monday, which resulted in an unprecedented team penalty, and
continuing with further examination of actions involving two other race teams, it is clear
to us that attempts to manipulate the results impacted the Chase field.

“The integrity of our sport remains the cornerstone of NASCAR, and our actions this week speak to our commitment to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.”

Additionally, NASCAR will conduct a mandatory meeting with drivers, owners, crew chiefs and other team personnel tomorrow to address this issue moving forward.

that makes me very happy. i would like to see truex in race, too; he didn’t misbehave, just those around him. too bad, he worked pretty hard this year to have it end that way

I realize Bowyer spinning out was more dangerous, but I see it as no different than the Penske issue. They were trying to affect the chase outcome. Logano and Guilliland shoud have lost points too.

I had the scoop on this story early on but my neighbor wouldn’t let me stand in his garden to get a good signal for my Bag Phone to post it

15 Q-points and I didn’t try to drive across a raging river that washed away the highway. How many times does that happen on Friday the 13th?

The spinout had everything to do with it. It's like getting Al Capone for tax evasion because you couldn't get him for murder.

In rebuttal to what some have posted on other threads, it's not like spiking the football to get another down, or throwing the ball out of bounds to stop the clock.

Most leagues have in their bylaws the requirement that organizations field competitive teams, meaning that they have to meet a minimum capability to play, and they have to play to win.

Slowing down and giving up position, points, and prize money is not playing to win. And it's not the same thing as a team that secured a playoff berth fielding their second-string to rest their starters.

And it's not the same thing as a team with a big lead slowing down and not scoring anymore. At least their not simply dropping the ball and letting the opponent take undue opportunities.

You don't see teams running the ball into the other team's goal. You don't see pitchers lobbing easy pitches so that a friend can break a hitting record.

And you shouldn't see drivers slowing down to let a friend pass for points, or fake slowing down by taking an unnecessary pit stop.

Well, well, well. Haven’t followed the news today. Your ping was what informed me about Gordon being in the chase.

Ah-hem. That rockie mountain feller got 15 more Q points then you did. You gonna let him get away with that??

The spin out had everything to do with the events, but nascar ruled they had insufficient evidence to rule on that, rather ruling on the pitting incident.

Are you on the right side of the flooding? We are high, but it is surrounding us. We snuck out I25 today to Breckenridge. I have a few pics of the st vrain under I25 and east of us before platteville. They are saying schools will be closed until next Thursday, at least.

Okra

Okra, known in many English-speaking countries as lady's fingers, bhindi or gumbo, is a flowering plant in the mallow family. It is valued for its edible green seed pods.
