Tim Tebow, after being cut by the New England Patriots last week, has refused to change positions after a NFL team expressed interest in him, SI’s Peter King reported on NBC’s 2013 NFL Kickoff show.

Tebow also said he will be in “relentless pursuit” of continuing his dream of being an NFL quarterback.

Whe I was 5 I was relentless in my pursuit of being Miss America. But sooner or later reality sets in and you have to come back to Earth.

Especially if you're a guy.

(Sorry ... couldn't resist)

Pride goes before the fall. I hope he makes it (he is better than at least half the ones out there), but in the end he can either change or not play and sell cars or something.

Tim, honestly now. I know you insist you’re a QB, but humor us and just try being a TE or a RB.

Good for you Tim.

I wonder if they wanted him to play the “gay, atheist, cross-dressing position on the team”?

I think there may be some exaggeration in the comments coming from Tebow's camp. I don't think he's gotten offers, plural, from Canada. Montreal owns his CFL rights and they've made it clear they aren't interested because it would require a total rebuild of their offense around him. The Arena League may well have come calling, and I can't blame Tebow for not being interested in them. But I still wonder why teams would be approaching him if he was willing to change positions? He's a good, but not overly exceptional, athlete and I don't see how he could step into a position as a tight end or running back and beat out people who have played those positions for years at all levels. I'm not saying players haven't changed positions but not as radically as Tebow would have to.

...but in the end he can either change or not play and sell cars or something.

I think his time in the NFL is definitely at an end. But I also think he has the ability to do more than just peddle cars somewhere.

And you think the Miss America isn’t itching just to have its first transgender winner?

I think they would have been happy if he could only have played the quarterback position on the team.

Ick. Now Chelsea Manning has something to shoot for...if it ever gets out of prison.

Tebow has shown more on the field than several backup QBs, and even a few starters. See the comments that got Rush Limbaugh into NFL hot water. That’s a big reason why Terrelle Pryor is a starter (what a complete joke), and Tim Tebow is unemployed. Tell me Pryor is a better QB, with a straight face.

I’ve always found Tebow to be annoying, but he is being black-balled by the NFL. His outspoken religiosity is one reason, and the fact that he doesn’t “look” like an “athletic” QB is the other. He isn’t a great NFL prospect by any stretch, but he’s better than a lot of the losers and retreads holding clipboards.

We're talking about the team who made Jamelephant Russell the first pick, first round. I've given up trying to understand why the Oakland Raiders do anything. I'm just glad that bone-headed decisions do seem to be their norm.

Some maybe, but not a lot. He just isn't very good at the position. Consensus is that he's third string at best, and nobody is going to invest a lot of money or put up with the overhead of Tebow at third string.

Yep. When he played for Denver he was kind of a one man show.
The rest of the team stood there while he tried to do everything.

I never thought of that.

I haven't watched any of those things in over 20 years ... maybe 30.

I hope I'm dead if and when it should occur.

The Raiders exist to bring balance to the AFC. If not for them, the weight of the stupidity of the Jets would cause the continent to tip over. That’s my theory.

Or was he successful because the rest of the team took up the slack?

And after Manning's performance of last night I don't think you would find anyone in Denver saying, "Gee, if only Tebow was leading the Broncos...."

I honestly can't think of a better explanation than that.

I think he is as good or better than these guys:

Tony Romo, Dallas (Tebow has better playoff record)
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati
Ryan Tannehill, Miami
Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay
Brandon Weeden, Cleveland
Jake Locker, Tennessee
E.J. Manuel, Buffalo
Blaine Gabbert, Jacksonville
Geno Smith, NYJ
Terrelle Pryor, Oakland
