President Obama faces an uphill battle in making the case for U.S. military action in Syria. By a 48% to 29% margin, more Americans oppose than support conducting military airstrikes against Syria in response to reports that the Syrian government used chemical weapons.

The new national survey by the Pew Research Center, conducted Aug. 29-Sept. 1 among 1,000 adults, finds that Obama has significant ground to make up in his own party. Just 29% of Democrats favor conducting airstrikes against Syria while 48% are opposed. Opinion among independents is similar (29% favor, 50% oppose). Republicans are more divided, with 35% favoring airstrikes and 40% opposed.

Looks like the American people have no stomach for this stupid rush to War in Syria. Hey but the GOP wonder twins Boehner and Cantor just threw their support to Obama.

The markets reacted negatively when they saw the GOPer so-called leadership caving. Again.

The insiders in Washington know exactly what the push for war with Syria is all about.

It is the Defense Contractors who are lobbying and pushing members of Congress for war.

The sequester has decreased defense spending. A war will increase defense spending.

Now, you know the end of the story.

Does anyone in DC care what the people think? I don’t see much evidence of it anymore.

“Hey but the GOP wonder twins Boehner and Cantor just threw their support to Obama.”

It was predictable. We have a one party system and when push comes to shove, expect them all to line up together.

I’ve noticed the media doesn’t appear to be very interested in polling on this issue.

“The GOP continue to be stuck on stupid.”

Folks, let’s try to get beyond this idea that the gop wing of the uniparty is “stupid.” They aren’t. Psychopaths, perhaps. Bought and sold...definitely. The problem is not that they’re stupid, it’s that they work for someone else and it sure heck isn’t the American people.

LOL! Plantation masters rarely listen to the opinions and grievances of their field slaves.

We all know Obama is a weak leader, but what makes him so dangerous as such?

If he’s weak and doesn’t know it, our enemies can exploit his weakness to take advantage of us.

If he’s weak and knows it, he - like every other d*ckless bully out there - is likely to overcompensate and drag us into wars we don’t want, need, or can’t afford.

Strong leaders don’t publicly draw “red lines.” They work through diplomacy and back channels to express our interests to foreign powers. Doing so keeps a leader from having to look tough to his own people when he is nothing of the sort!

Obama is a weak leader and he knows it, and that’s why the Republicans are stupid for green-lighting his egomania.
