We're hearing that anyway, in spite of the fact that the exact opposite is the truth.

I would raise the voting age to 21 with one exception--active duty military or veterans.

Those who 'were old enough to carry a rifle in Vietnam but not old enough to vote' are old enough now. (--and all that did was give the vote to an overwhelming wad of people the same age who were not in the military).
