Anyone Else Having Problems Displaying Message Threads?

Am I the only one having issues displaying threads on the forum this morning?

Threads with less than 50 posts appear to display fine.

Threads with more than 50 replies to them I see perhaps the first 12-15 posts in the thread and that's it. I don't see the page footer or anything else, the page just truncates.

Also, I've noticed if I click on a specific message link to a thread, I don't get that message link displayed, rather I see replies above or below that link.

For example, if Person A replied to Person B, and the link is 44 of 45, clicking on the link 44 of 45 doesn't work.

Am I the only one having problems with FR today? I've tried Chrome, FireFox, Safari and IE. All have the same problems. I've cleared Cache on each browser, that didn't help.

For example, on THIS THREAD there are 47 replies. I can only see the first 12 posts. The thread appears to be truncated mid-way through the 13th post on that thread.

Likely I won't see many of the responses on this thread .... (sigh, just thought of that AFTER I posted it... I need more coffee this morning.)

This is a frequent but annoying FR glitch lately. The only solution is to go to your account, then to “My preferences” and change the “Thread Pagination” and “Browsing” options to 20 results/messages per page.

Today Ive noticed scrolling ... being tediously slow...with some slowdown in text appearing when typed into the reply “box”

Id say its the NSA...but Id rather not be accused of being PARANOID.....

I had a similar issue yesterday after installing an update to firefox.

In my case it was cured but rebooting a second time.

I was thinking that maybe just logging out of FR and logging in again would have had the same result.

I am also having problems.

I am on Firefox & I kept asking for free republic & was getting connected to microsoft & a big wad of ads I have never seen before. Never had that problem before.

Now I am NOT getting the bar on the right side with other stories & am getting only short versions of the threads I can see.

Hope they can fix this soon.

Is someone hacking into Jim’s website or what?

I am OK. Gooogle was down for half an hour and messed up 40% of internet traffic. Could be related to that or some other internet problem. Did you pay your tribute to “Anonymous”

my preferences were and remain set at 20 messages per page

the issues I was having... relatively minor ones...were resolved by switching back to the chrome browser.

frankly I think the issues I was having may have in part been due to having left the compute on 24 7.....with one window open to the drudge report...which updates every minute or so,,,adding to the data in the browsers CACHE...

Run antivirus immediately. Lots of adds has always been a Trojan on my Windows Vista Virus.

I just followed Maceman's tip above and I can now navigate all threads successfully, albeit 20 posts at a time rather than the 50 I had it set for.

Following replies to me also works again. Give his tip a try.
