Actress Tara Reid will not have a role in the Sharknado 2 movie. According to reports the only cast member likely to return is Ian Ziering.

Sources close to the project tell TMZ that meetings in New York led to the decision to cut Reid’s character.

You may recall that Ziering recently told Access Hollywood that he had reservations about Sharknado because of Tara Reid’s troubled past. Ultimately he says Reid did a wonderful job

Signs of career death now have a new gold standard... inability to appear in the Sharknado sequel.

Considering the fact that they make these movies to be deliberately ridiculous, it seems kind of odd that they would worry about Reid’s “troubled past”.

Now when are they going to make SHARKQUAKE?

Last night, Super Shark was on. It's bullet proof and can "walk" on land. It had John Schneider as the star...awesome! Special appearance by Jimmie Walker.

There was one feature in those movies which made them watchable.....and your pic shows it...and it was not the sharks.

Troubled past? Her bad plastic surgery? Not that I pay attention, but is she even too old for the eye-candy factor in those ~$500K productions that have contributed to the demise of scifi on SyFy?

I think "Sharkquake" has already been done. An earthquake shakes a shiver of sharks - thought-to-be extinct Megalodons - up from the depths to prey upon the modern world.

I stopped watching, let alone recording deleting them before watching, years ago.

One of the last I remember had Eric Roberts being eaten in Sharktopus.

Really? 2011. I was thinking it was a little older.... maybe 2000-2003... just based on the pic... if really 2011, it must have been lower than low budget...

I ‘get’ tongue and cheek sci fi stuff like MST3K where they take BAD sci fi movies and ad a sarcastic sound track. I wish it was still on.

I don’t like movies like sharknado or sharktopus. its like they are trying to make a semi serious sci fi flick and ranking it out all at the same time.....just a waste of time and film stock if you ask me.

"if really 2011, it must have been lower than low budget..."

All of SyFy Channel's movies are made with a lower than low budget. I think they have a three year old doing the computer graphics because they suck so bad. I take that back...a three year old could probably do a better job.

I didn't say Sharktopus was worth watching more than once...

But, isn't Shark Week coming up on Discovery?

SyFy's leeching "synergy" is quite well-known, especially with their buddies over at The Asylum productions.

I know of it an and actually watched some...they actually riff on good movies like the Empire Strikes Back, etc.

there is currently a ‘Rift’ between 2 factions of MST3K

Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic.

both are good. but I prefer they be on a scheduled channel and not on line....
